I cannot say enough about this experience. This was my first time in Cancún and this event was the highlight for me. The bus picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the dock for the ferry, which was about 30 minutes away. There are other docks nearby, but this one specifically was used for these tours, I think. At the dock, we are checked in, pay the $10 USD dock fee, and gather to board the catamaran. I get motion sickness very easily, so I was prepared with all the meds. If you think you might get sick, TAKE THE MEDS. The ride is fun, but it is choppy and windy and could easily get you sick if you're not prepared. On the boat you receive a nice fruity drink, then your choice of wine, beer, etc. Abimael was our guide, with Gabriel at the helm, and Francis and Francisco as crew. Absolutely stellar guys leading the show. Really, super friendly and fun. You take a short tour of the shoreline of Isla Mujeres, which is truly stunning, then are brought to the shore to dine. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but I can say that the food was phenomenal. Apps, amuse bouche, main dishes, dessert. Beef, pork, chicken, veg options, spicy and not. So much variety. Abimael did an incredible job of explaining how the Mayan and Spanish cuisine and ingredients and processes melded to produce the combinations we know and love. He was so energetic and exciting! Abimael talked us through creating our own cocktails, which were delicious. We also had a wine pairing with every course, then tequila/mezcal tasting at the end. It was quite a bit of alcohol for a lightweight like me, but it was really fun! Then we had a lovely ride back to shore on the catamaran with an open bar. It was 100% worth every penny and every minute was full of fun and education. It would absolutely do it again. Really great crew, cooks, and waitstaff. Bring a few extra dollars for tips. They deserve it!

Our experience with Traveler’s Table in Isla Mujeres was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we were picked up in the catamaran, the adventure began. The stunning views of the turquoise water and the relaxed vibe on the boat set the perfect tone for the evening ahead. The four-course dinner was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was crafted with care, highlighting authentic flavors that transported us into Mexico’s rich culinary history. The wine pairings were impeccable—each one thoughtfully chosen to enhance the meal, and the explanations behind them added a layer of depth that we truly appreciated. Leo, our host, made the evening so much more special. His passion, charisma, and ability to engage the group elevated the whole experience. And a huge shoutout to Abi, our guide, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and informed throughout the journey. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality didn’t go unnoticed. To top it all off, the evening concluded with a tequila and mezcal tasting that was not only delicious but also informative. We learned so much about these iconic spirits and thoroughly enjoyed the tasting experience. If you’re looking for a unique, intimate, and beautifully curated dining adventure in Isla Mujeres, Traveler’s Table is a must. It’s a perfect blend of flavors, culture, and hospitality. Bravo to the entire team for creating such a memorable experience!

Oh my goodness! This experience was an absolute WIN, and our favorite over all of our 10 or so trips to Cancun! Michelle was the hostesses with the mostest! She tied a beautiful catamaran ride with a lovely view of a sunset on the seventh most beautiful beach in the world while enjoying a specially curated menu of historical and modern food and drink along with very engaging storytelling. We learned a lot about cultural influences on food, drink, and the island while enjoying a salacious evening of laughing, "funny faces," and making new friends. Plus, Michelle graciously shared the recipes with anyone who wanted them. Most of us did! A special thanks to Michelle, chef Carlos, Aby, Anelle, Roberto, Edgar, Rox and Ricardo

A Truly Memorable Experience at The Traveler’s Table

The Traveler’s Table was an unforgettable experience for my family and me. At $159 per person, it was worth every penny. We booked our experience through Cancun Adventures, which I believe is associated with JetBlue or JetBlue Vacations.

Our adventure began around 6 PM with a convenient pickup from our hotel, as round-trip transportation was included. After a 30-minute drive, we had an adventurous and bumpy ride through the jungle that only heightened our curiosity about the final destination. When we finally arrived, the jungle opened up to reveal a secluded, breathtaking beach. Every aspect of the setting screamed “exotic” and “relaxing.” The beach club had a rustic and organic charm, with serene daybeds and charming swing chairs at the bar—perfect for unwinding. And to top it off, we were warmly greeted by a friendly host who welcomed us with a drink in hand (which is always the best way to be welcomed!).

Upon arrival, we were free to explore the property and snap some photos. The timing was perfect—the setting sun provided a stunning backdrop, making it an incredibly Instagrammable spot. The intimate gathering of about 15 to 20 guests, all from different hotels, allowed for a relaxed and personal atmosphere.

Our group consisted of about seven people, including a lovely couple from Minnesota. It never felt crowded, and the seating arrangements were thoughtfully designed for conversation and enjoyment.

The host was phenomenal. He was engaging, entertaining, and knew how to capture our attention. The evening kicked off with a hands-on activity—creating a traditional spicy pepper drink (I wish I remembered the name because it was delicious!). This was followed by insightful lessons before each course, where we learned fascinating details about the influences on Mexican cuisine, including surprising Middle Eastern elements.

The beachside setting was serene, enhanced by the ocean breeze, swaying trees, and gentle chimes in the background. At one point, even a little crab scurried by our table, adding to the charmingly rustic experience. Because you’re literally on the beach, I’d recommend bringing bug spray (they provide it, but it’s good to be prepared). Dress comfortably, as it’s all about relaxation here—leave the heels and fancy attire at home, and opt for comfortable sandals or flats.

I don’t eat meat, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they accommodated my dietary preferences, especially since we booked just a day in advance. They curated a vegan menu that was just as impressive as the traditional options. I initially thought I’d end up just eating sides, but the dishes were outstanding, and I truly felt like I got my money’s worth.

Each course was thoughtfully presented, and we were masterfully entertained. I don’t want to spoil too much, but there were fun surprises woven throughout the evening, especially during the soup course. It’s one of those experiences you need to see for yourself to fully appreciate. For $159, it felt like a steal—I would’ve gladly paid $200 for the night.

Cancun Adventures offers two Traveler’s Table experiences: the one we did in Playa Del Carmen, and another in Isla Mujeres, which includes a catamaran ride to the island. I’m already planning to try it next time I’m in Mexico.

At the end of the night, I requested photos with the staff, and they kindly introduced us to the chef and kitchen team. The service, food, and overall experience were so exceptional that I left them a generous tip—it was absolutely well-deserved.

If you’re heading to Mexico, The Traveler’s Table is a must-do. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind dining adventure!

My husband and I had the pleasure of attending the Traveler Table event during our vacation in Cancun, and it was an experience we will cherish forever. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the enchanting atmosphere – a breathtaking beach setting that felt like it was plucked straight from a dream.

Chef Poli's culinary creations, inspired by ancient Mayan recipes, were nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a delightful fusion of flavors and history, transporting our taste buds to another era. The attention to detail and authenticity in every bite left us in awe.

What truly elevated our evening, however, was the impeccable service provided by Karla, Ariel, and Roberto. Their warmth and professionalism were evident from the start, and they went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was flawless. Their genuine smiles and attentiveness added an extra layer of joy to the evening.

We must also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Maryel, the head of the event, whose passion for her craft shone through in every aspect of the evening. Her dedication to creating memorable experiences for guests like us was evident in every detail, and we left feeling not only satisfied but truly enriched by the entire experience.

In conclusion, the Traveler Table event exceeded all our expectations and then some. It's not just a meal; it's a journey through time and culture, guided by passionate individuals who make every moment unforgettable. If you find yourself in Cancun, this is an experience you simply cannot miss. We can't wait to return and create more beautiful memories. Thank you to the entire team for making my husband's birthday celebration one...
