We ate here specifically because the tripadvisor listing said they had vegan options. I even double checked with several members of the staff before being seated and was told there were vegan options. When I tried ordering, there were no options. The menu is geared towards american tourists, looking more like the menu at chilis or applebees than at a local mexican restaurant. Pizza, pasta, steak, and burgers are not traditional mexican or mayan food! Nearly every option contained meat, so I wouldn't even consider it vegetarian friendly. First the server suggested I get salad, but every salad had very few vegetables and all had creamy dressings, so I would have ended up eating dry lettuce. Then, he suggested the panuchos without the meat, which I ordered. Then, he came back to tell me that the only beans they had for the panuchos were refried with lard. So, I told them to just do what ever they could do vegan. I ended up eating lettuce tacos. LETTUCE TACOS. So essentially, their only vegan option is lettuce. I really wish they had just told me they couldn't accommodate me rather than say they could, then do so poorly. There are plenty of other restaurants serving local fare that have way...

For 980 pesos we had exactly six tacos with no sides and one burrito no sides, as well as a definitely watered down Draft Dos Equis 330cc (110pesos 😂) in an unchilled glass along with a 330cc plastic bottle of diet Coke no glass or ice provided.
Anywhere in Progreso or Merida you can get the exact same thing for half the price in a similar setting.
Weirdly enough, our tab included something like a multiplication factor - seemed like a cover charge aka utensils and price for siting down, which I'm not sure what it meant, and a 10% tip which was already predetermined in the price.
I think the only reason these people are in business is because they are the only outfit at an uncomfortably walking distance from Pisté where there are so many other better options.
Don't get me wrong. The food was not terrible. It was actually okay, although it was an utter and complete rip-off.
People that are stuck there and waiting for buses have no choice.
If you are NOT stuck waiting there with elderly friends and kids, for example, I highly recommend you go to the village next...
Read moreWe visited here a lifetime ago in early March, before the COVID-19 pandemic. This restaurant sits inside the Chichen-Itza archaeological zone. I didn’t expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is attractive, the service is good and so’s the food! They even have a rooftop area where you can dine and see the iconic Mayan Pyramid of Kukulkan inside Chichen-Itza. We came to see the ruins in the afternoon before sunset, and we had tickets to see (an incredible) lightshow that they do at the pyramid at night (“Noches de Kukulkan”—definitely a must-see!), so we had about 2 hours to kill to back inside the archaeological zone. “Let’s eat here!”, I said. It’s not your only choice in the vicinity, but it’s your best choice. They have delicious authentic Mexican food (with vegetarian options, if you’re into that), great local craft beers and it’s not crowded. The waiters seem like they’ve been here forever and their service proves it—they are very good! If you’re hungry after taking in the incredible history of this Mayan Ruin, don’t hesitate to eat here—you’ll be glad you did! For what it is, it's...
