Imga myonga Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Ulaanbaatar

Me and my girlfriend went there around 7pm. It was some kind of quiet but there was table of 3 who were really loud. We ordered 2 dishes, Жеюүгбуггым with cheese, Су Калбижим. First dish was around 9$(33k in local currency) second dish was around 9,5$(35k in local currency). And for the price of it there was nothing really on the table, portions were horribly small, like if you were in Texas that dish would be a side. And additional sides(4 or 5 sides) were very bland and small in portions too even for a side. We went to other Korean restaurants in the area, not that far from here, and I was shocked that I could get a big and tasty Korean meal with 9-10 dollars, but not in Imga Myonga. It was so unsatisfying. Service and atmosphere were good. Other than that there was nothing really going on in there. If you are looking for a good Korean food in Ulaanbaatar, don’t go to the Imga Myonga, they would serve you small side...

Actually the food this time around was exceptionally good. Great cuts of meat and delicious side dishes. Wait staff seem genuinely confused and slow both in speed and wit.

Just not to my taste, unfortunately. Service was very polite and friendly if a little bit stiff. Corn cheese, doenjanjjigae and the steamed egg were all delicious. I really didn’t like the main barbecue though. Pork skin was bland and had a soft, unpleasant consistency, kimchi was way too smoky and the pork was, to me, somewhat underdone and unremarkable.
