Saemaeul Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Ulaanbaatar

I’ve been to the Naadam location several times and always had a great experience with both the food and service. This time, I decided to try this branch, but unfortunately, it was a letdown from the start.

When I sat down, the chair had visible food stains—looked like kimchi or meat. I politely asked the waitress if she could clean it, but she just stood there and told me the seat would be wet if she did. I ended up cleaning it myself while she watched. Not exactly the kind of service I expected.

The restaurant was also uncomfortably hot, and they served boiling hot tea on an already hot day. Either the AC or the ventilation wasn’t working properly. I ordered a Coke with ice, but was told the ice machine was broken—so I had to go next door to the CU store to buy a cup of ice myself. Ironically, they were also buying ice from CU to make milkshakes. If the ice machine is broken, they should be able to order bags of ice to serve customers properly—especially as a food and beverage business.

The food itself was okay, but the overall experience left a bad impression. I really hope this branch improves its service...

ordered meat and orher cooked foods, it took 30+ min to get here and food was not even hot. Had to call them an reheat the food. So much smoke in the restaurant, and ordered sundubu jigae, it supposed to be spicy but it was cold and not spicy at all....
