Panda Chinese Restaurant Ikh Nayd — Restaurant in Ulaanbaatar

Hadn't a Chinese in a while and since this place was very close to where I was staying I said "yes, why not".

Used the photos to order two dishes I was familiar with, having spent time living in China, a beef and mushroom stir fry and a Sauteed Asparagus, that's good as a complimentary dish

Restaurant had nice decor and there was a good sized crowd in for the middle of the day on a week day.

Ordered two beers as well - Harbin which was fine Food was served fast and efficiently

Now onto the food - huge portion sizes and the meat dish wasn't great - mushrooms were a bit off, and the beef was dry and hard - not great at all. The Sauteed Asparagus was fine. The portion sizes meant that I could not finish the food, no matter how hard I tried and despite the off taste with the meaty dish..... - and I hate leaving a lot of food behind.....annoying.

I asked the waiter why the orders were so massive - and he told me that it was because the portion was for two people - I was a little annoyed at this as I did ask for some help with the menu at the start and seeing I was only one person they could have told me that in ordering two dishes it was too much - bad form me thinks (and I was close to ordering another dish - phew!)

The bill came to just under 28 Euros, which is massive for one person in UB. Very annoying to say the least and the waiter wanted a tip as well, cheeky bugger. Typical of the Chinese, no...

Given that it's Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the Chinese food was just ok.... That said, we will be back with hopes of giving this place a higher score🙌 there are many things on the menu, and it all looks delicious. We ordered 3 dishes, but only two came... Service was slow... (but understandable).

Sweet and spur pork was only sweet, not sour, bummer... The breading on the dish was crunchy and nice, I am giving this a free pass because, hey, people make mistakes - it was still tasty, just not delicious. And not what we ordered.

The green beans made up for the sweet n sour pork.

The beef dish never came, but they did remove that from the bill. Portion size is HUGE! Which is good.

We will be back with hopes to edit this for much higher ratings. I do recommend this place🙏 Give it a shot❤️

Service was a huge improvement. We received everything we ordered and loved it. The beef meatballs, I'd avoid, unless you enjoy meatballs on the salty side.

During my visit, I experience good customer service; employees are kind and helpful with navigating the menu for Vegan options. My meal consists of mainly asparagus and eggplant. The meal is tasty and has a lot of sauce (enough to add to a little jar for future meals, if you're really into the flavor and want to preserve the extra). I save portions of the meal to mix with portions of latter meals I eat. The peppers in the meal are not spicy, to me, though flavorful. The asparagus leans more toward a softer crunch, and the eggplant texture is quite slimy, leaning toward a mushier quality.
