Despite being a generally positive franchise, the Mongolian branch falls short in several areas. Prices are significantly higher than average local pubs, and food quality is mediocre. However, the drinks are acceptable.
A particularly negative experience occurred several years ago when, as a group of young adults over the legal drinking age, we were enjoying a casual gathering. Unexpectedly, the waiter demanded to see our identification after serving us for some time, multiple round of beer servings. While we complied, it was surprising as carrying ID cards is uncommon in Mongolia. Several of my friends managed to verify their age through alternative methods, but one was unable to do so. When we explained the situation, the waiter's attitude became hostile and condescending. He began scolding us unfairly, as we were not disruptive or overly loud.
It seemed apparent that the establishment targets a higher-end clientele, and our appearance did not fit their perceived customer profile. This was evident from the staff's whispering before the sudden ID request. Feeling disrespected, I requested to speak with the manager but the staff immediately stopped harassing us. I even insisted on calling the police if it was necessary to verify our age.
To add insult to injury, I later observed the same waiter purchasing cheap, local beer from a nearby shop to serve to customers. This suggests potential fraudulent practices.
Overall, the staff's discriminatory behavior and questionable practices significantly tarnish the franchise's reputation...
Read moreWe didn’t get our order right. It was an order for two people, meaning two dishes, but only one came out. I assumed the second one was just taking longer, and our server gave us the first dish without saying anything. I was very patient and waited another 45 minutes for my food. When I finally asked our waitress about my dish, she seemed completely oblivious. She didn’t even know we had ordered two meals. She had forgotten to put in my order, probably because she didn’t write anything down. Naturally, I was upset and told her to just bring us the bill. And guess what? Not only she didn’t even apologize, she was kind of rude. She didn’t bring the bill herself and sent another waitress instead. We left without receiving our full order or a proper apology. I didn’t want to make a scene, so I just left. But honestly, the experience would have been much better if she had at least pretended to be sorry. And this is not the first time they got our order wrong. That said, the food was decent. My boyfriend liked it, I think would have liked it too if I got my food. The atmosphere was also almost decent but it was missing that signature Hard Rock vibe. Even tho it’s not really a bad place I prefer good service over...
Read moreFirst and last time here. Absolute dog water dining experience at the end. The server who was handling our bill neglected to print the bill with VAT included and proceeded to process our payments. The first problem is the server didn't take off one menu item as they didn't have it. My bill was 134k, clearly incorrect as the two items I ordered equaled to 60k.
Then after we disputed the payment process and bill more servers came over. It went from 134k to 89k and I refused to pay the amount as it was incorrect again! I showed the server the QR menu what I ordered, Messi burger and draft golden Gobi. Still wasn't good enough. Disputes go on and now we have half the country trying to fix out this nonsense.
Then they started to charge our group the missing VAT as the server neglected to put that on the original bill. Then they tried again to charge me 70k. Again, I refused.
Eventually the on duty supervisor came out and cleared all this nonsense. It wasted 45 minutes of our time trying to deal with a simple error. Could have been all avoided if the bill was printed correctly.
What absolute nonsense to deal with.
Oh and the food is horrendous for the price. Don't bother...
