CHi LE MA + Podgroica 吃了吗 + — Restaurant in Podgorica

We visited this restaurant as a couple on a Monday afternoon. There were only two tables occupied in the entire place—ours and another table where the guests were already eating.

Despite this, it took 10 minutes for the waiter to bring us the menus, and another 15 minutes just to get our drinks. When we ordered our drinks, we also ordered our food. However, when the drinks were finally served, the waiter asked us again what food we had ordered because he wasn’t sure.

When the first course (soup) arrived, he asked us for the third time what we had ordered. And after finishing the main course, when we asked for dessert, he looked surprised and asked us again what dessert we had chosen.

I completely understand that a waiter might forget an order—it happens. But in that case, it would be much better to write it down rather than keep asking the customers repeatedly.

As for the food: the Tom Yum soup and the hot & sour soup were extremely salty and hard to enjoy. The rest of the dishes were decent in taste, but nothing special and definitely with room for improvement.

The service by our waitor today was fantastic. He was friendly and brought water for our dog before we even asked - super nice!

However, the food was absolutely forgettable. The fried rice was different from the picture on the menu (the large shrimp in the picture was changed to tiny shrimp from frozen seafood mix), and it didn't taste like fried rice with no trace of frying - it was like steamed rice simply mixed with seasoning. The broccoli dish was made with frozen broccoli - not a restaurant quality for sure.

They also reuse wooden chopsticks. I know Asian families do that at home, but I've never had wooden chopsticks reused among customers. Plastic ones are understandable to be reused as they can be washed well, but wooden chopsticks cannot be washed completely. Reusing wooden chopsticks with somewhat browned tips in restaurant is absolutely disgusting to me - we used only silver utensils.

Update from 3.11.2024 Got a couple if meals for take away today and kind of disappointed.

When I got home I found out that chopsticks and souses are missing. Sour-sweet chicken with pineapples have much more batter than actual chicken. Very mediocre, unfortunately🤷‍♂️

Looks like something changed in their management some time ago and the service has become much better.

The food is pretty stable. But let's be honest Montenegro is famous not for its Asian food ))) It is definitely not the best Asian food in my life, but as an alternative to endless local grilled meat, it works fine.

Prices have become higher and feel unreasonable - but I can say the same about almost all restaurants these days...

p.s. Unfortunately, it is only possible to rate with whole stars, while 4 is too low meanwhile the place is not a full 5 in my opinion. But let it be 5 in advance, I hope the kitchen will grow as the the...
