I recently visited Garden Brunch for lunch and was initially impressed by the ambiance and quality of the food. I ordered a beef steak meal along with an iced tea. Since I’m mindful of my sugar intake, I specifically requested the iced tea to be made less sweet. The server assured me that it was already the least sweet option and promised to make it even less sugary.
However, when my meal arrived, the iced tea was excessively sweet—so much so that I couldn’t even drink it. I politely asked if I could replace it with something else, like sparkling water. The server initially refused, saying it was too late to make a change. After insisting, she spoke to the manager.
Unfortunately, the manager’s response was equally disappointing. He insisted that there was no issue with the iced tea and refused to make any substitution. I explained that my request wasn’t about the quality of their product but rather my own dietary needs, as I’m concerned about my sugar consumption. Despite expressing my frustration, the manager repeatedly apologized but still declined to replace the drink.
It’s frustrating that such a small request—a $3 drink swap—was met with such resistance, especially when I had clearly communicated my needs from the start. While the food was great and I had high hopes for this place, this experience left me feeling quite disappointed. I had planned to become a regular customer, but this situation made me reconsider.
I just wanted to share my experience, as it felt like a missed opportunity for a better...
Read moreI’ll start with the good things: the menu is quite nice even though the quality has downgraded a bit especially the “pain perdu” I have ordered yesterday that didn’t taste like the first time I had ordered it.
Matcha that’s on the menu but everytime we try to order it the waiters say it’s not available??? Just remove it from the menu, it’s been months already.
Lattes that take forever to arrive, is it because the waiters have too much to handle? The place is often crowded but it’s not a good look to be understaffed.
Yesterday, while my friend and I were enjoying our drinks and food we heard who we assumed was the manager use inappropriate language with a member of the staff and even proceeded to fire him (I hope he wasn’t actually fired because everyone deserves at least a minimum amount of respect and if he did make a mistake there’s a professional way to let someone go and using really vulgar insults isn’t it).
I hope the points I mentioned above will be taken into consideration and people who manage this place understand that respect and proper communication amongst the staff is what would keep any business from falling apart, because you clearly have the customers and the potential to make the quality of your food and...
Read moreThis place used to be great when it first opened, but unfortunately, the service quality has declined significantly. On my last two visits, my experience was disappointing. The first time, it took over an hour to receive two lattes, and even then, the order was incorrect. While the waiter was apologetic and tried to make things right, it still felt unnecessarily long. On the second visit, my order was completely disregarded, and I was told I hadn’t placed one at all…which wasn’t true.
However, what I witnessed today was unacceptable. A woman, who I believe is the manager, was speaking to one of the staff members in a loud, aggressive tone, using inappropriate language. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. No matter the reason, that kind of behavior has no place in a work environment, especially in front of customers. Issues between staff should be addressed privately, not through public humiliation. What we witnessed bordered on harassment and left a very negative impression.
I truly hope the management reflects on this and takes steps to improve both service and...
