I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting dar soukkar, a place that left me not only disappointed but also feeling deeply stressed, discriminated against, and grief-stricken. From the moment I walked through the doors, it was clear that this establishment's commitment to customer satisfaction and basic decency was non-existent.

Let's start with the reservation debacle. I had made a reservation well in advance, anticipating a special occasion. However, upon my arrival, I was informed that my reservation had been inexplicably canceled without any prior notice or explanation. The sheer disregard for my time, effort, and anticipation was disheartening. It's as if my presence and patronage were completely inconsequential to the restaurant's management.

To make matters worse, the staff displayed a complete lack of professionalism and empathy. When I inquired about the cancellation, the hostess not only failed to provide any plausible explanation but also exhibited a dismissive and disrespectful attitude. The level of customer service was appalling, and it left me wondering if this establishment holds any regard for its patrons at all.

Moreover, I can't help but believe that the cancellation of my reservation was driven by discrimination. The fact that other guests, who arrived after me and without reservations, were promptly seated while I was turned away speaks volumes about the discriminatory practices of this restaurant. I cannot help but question whether my race, gender, or appearance played a role in this unacceptable treatment. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, and it is deeply distressing to encounter it in such a blatant manner.

The distress and grief I experienced during this ordeal were magnified by the insensitivity of dar soukkar's staff. Instead of attempting to rectify the situation or offer a sincere apology, they seemed more interested in brushing me off and moving on to the next customer. It was as if my negative experience held no value to them whatsoever.

Ultimately, Dar Essoukar exemplifies everything that is wrong with the hospitality industry. Their complete disregard for customer satisfaction, lack of professionalism, discrimination, and failure to address customer grievances make it clear that this establishment does not deserve the patronage of anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience.

I urge potential diners to avoid this restaurant at all costs. Save yourself the stress, discrimination, and grief. There are far better establishments out there in Marrakech that will treat you with respect, value your patronage, and provide a dining experience worthy of your...

Extremely Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience at Dar Soukkar Marrakech

I rarely write negative reviews, but our recent experience at Dar Soukkar Marrakech was so frustrating and disappointing, it deserves to be shared as a cautionary tale for others. We were a party of five—including a young teenage boy—hoping to enjoy a special evening. That never happened. Upon arrival, staff refused to let us in because they perceived our teen’s shorts as "sportswear," despite the fact that they were weather-appropriate and by no means sloppy. There were staff members of the female persuasion who were basically showing their bums but our son’s shorts were not appropriate?!!

Their rigid enforcement of a subjective dress code, with zero flexibility or understanding, was both embarrassing and deeply unwelcoming—especially given the boy’s age.

What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism and basic hospitality. We stood waiting for 15–20 minutes before anyone was willing to let us speak with a manager. My two sons and husband had to wait outside the grounds! When the manager finally appeared, there was absolutely no effort to accommodate us as foreign tourists. Our respectful attempts to discuss the situation or explain our attire were met with inflexibility, dismissiveness, and an overall sense that our presence was an inconvenience. The entire attitude felt like a classic tourist trap: all posturing with no real interest in hospitality or guest experience. Instead of welcoming visitors from abroad and representing Marrakech’s renowned warmth and openness, Dar Soukkar seemed more concerned about keeping up appearances and maximizing profit. The staff’s behavior left us embarrassed and forced to seek another restaurant at the last minute—hardly what you expect from a place marketed as a top Marrakech destination. Given the sky-high, fixed prices, and what we witnessed of their treatment of guests, I can only imagine the rest of the experience doesn’t live up to the hype either. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for authentic hospitality and a memorable night out. Dar Soukkar is an overrated, overpriced, and unaccommodating spot that prioritizes form over substance—avoid if you value feeling welcome and respected as a visitor...

A Magical Evening at Palais Dar Soukkar

My boyfriend and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an enchanting evening at Palais Dar Soukkar, and it was nothing short of magical. From the delectable cuisine to the mesmerising dance performances, every moment was a celebration of Moroccan culture.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food. The menu offered a tantalising array of dishes, each a culinary masterpiece bursting with exotic flavours. For myself, pad thai and my boyfriend indulged in savoury tagines, fragrant dates, and succulent grilled meats—all expertly prepared and presented with flair. The combination of aromatic spices and fresh ingredients created a dining experience that left our taste buds dancing with delight.

Adding to the enchantment of the evening were the incredible dance performances. The skilled dancers transported us to another world with their graceful movements and vibrant costumes. From traditional folk dances to the energetic rhythms of belly dancing, every act was a visual feast, perfectly complementing the rich tapestry of Moroccan traditions.

The ambiance at Palais Dar Soukkar was equally captivating. The venue's architecture and decor exuded a sense of opulence, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an Arabian Nights tale. The dim lighting and the soothing live music enhanced the romantic ambiance, making it an ideal setting for a memorable date night.

The attentive and friendly staff contributed to the overall positive experience. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional.

Palais Dar Soukkar proved to be more than just a restaurant; it was a cultural journey that left us with lasting memories. Whether you're a connoisseur of fine dining, a lover of dance, or someone seeking a unique and romantic evening, this gem in Morocco is an absolute must-visit. We look forward to returning and savouring the...

Morocco was difficult to enjoy due to smoking being permitted everywhere including enclosed restaurants! I suppose I expected Muslim countries to be non-smoking or at least have standards that promote health to the body. Thanks to COVID, I now have masks everywhere I travel but unfortunately had to wear it the entire time at this restaurant (5hrs) because the smoke of all kinds was overbearing! Aside from that, it’s an absolutely beautiful restaurant with talented entertainers (I’m a singer/dancer so can say they were solid). While I was surprised at how immodest the dancers dressed for a Muslim country, I did appreciate that they weren’t too raunchy in dance moves. I was nervous I might’ve walked into a burlesque show, but no it’s fine. I found it interesting that kids were there seeing these type of dressed dancers as well. So, fyi if you can’t find a babysitter they clearly don’t mind children there. The food was amazing!!! From appetizer to dessert I was satisfied immensely. Service was almost perfection until we had an issue with my friends birthday cake. She’s Moroccan and her dad had a large birthday cake delivered there for her. They took it to the kitchen for her until end of night given they also served cake and desserts she wanted to try. When we were leaving at the end of the night they removed her cake from its original box, cut it up into their smaller boxes! Wth! She didn’t even get to see what it looked like and why would they do that? All this said, I highly recommend this place if you decide to visit Morocco. Know before you go! It’ll be a highlight if you can handle smoke enough. Go, enjoy!

Came here for our family Xmas dinner with two children. Aged 4 and 3. The venue was like a mystery hidden in the desert. The venue opens from 7 pm - 6 am, yes 6 am. It reminded me of a movie setting. As you arrive you are greeted by security very friendly. You walk through a beautiful lit garden and then come to a door hidden behind a curtain. You meet your assistant who brings you to your table. The service at 1st took very long. They were apologetic and made up for the amount of alcohol in our cocktails. The set menu was decent. What I chose was lovely. I really enjoyed it, and it was filling. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. Entertainment: Well, where to start and what you say. Absolutely fantastic. From start, we didn't get to the end as we was with young ones, but for that alone, I would have stayed. My son was having the best time of his life. Dancing and being danced with. 100% I would recommend this place to anyone who goes to Marrakesh. They really did think about everything.

Disappointed, but my expectations might’ve been too high. Show: I expected an actual dinner show. But show only starts late. They only perform a couple of times with very long breaks in between. So you’d mostly sit around waiting. Venue: Amazing venue! Definitely the highlight of everything. Both inside and outside are beautiful. Food and drinks: Starter was good. For dinner we had Tajine but we only got chicken, no rice or any kind of side dish. It tasted waayyyyyy too minty for my liking. It was like I was eating chicken with toothpaste. Drinks will cost you arms and legs. Even a coke is €9! Service: Good but they beg you for a tip, which made it worse. So overall it turned out to be quite disappointing for me. I have been to similar shows in other countries where I got a nicer show, more food and drinks for just a fraction of the price. With everything combined: cost of dinner+show, the drinks and the taxis that will charge you triple the price it turned out a very expensive night out
