Golden Fish — Restaurant in Souissi السويسي

Contrary to my magnificent stay in Sofitel(for the second time) this restaurant is really bad. Either things need to be changed or you should just close it. Because this is not worthy of the Sofitel brand.

The starters: fried seafood croquettes were still ice on the inside when served, i had to spew my food out. This was the first taste of the evening. The avocado with krab: Avocado was super bland we had to add a lot of salt and pepper.

We ordered 4 mojito’s, they were all super bitter. They used schweppes tonic and no sugar at all. When we sent them back to make a real mojito they gave us instead, a mojito mixed with mango lemonade to make it sweet. A restaurant in a 5 start hotel that does not know how to make a simple mojito??? Then, for main dish we ordered the chef’s suggestion swordfish with legumes et puree. The dish was served cold AGAIN! The puree was cold. Back to the kitchen again. Finally a manager came to apologise and gave us 3 more mojito(with mango lol) so in the end we were eating a main dish with 5 mojito’s lemonade served, what a service(!) Also the personnel although kind was very pushy, they started taking away our plates while we were still eating our starter. Ooh i almost forgot, after i had the spew out the ICED seafood balls i never got a new plate. Also my partner did not have a fork to start her maindish. I ate the tenderloin beef which was really good taste and a big portion however the fries served together were a bit undercooked. It sounds like i am really harsh, but it’s the truth. For cherry on the cake when we asked for the bill. The printer is of such bad quality the bill is unreadable. The waiter had to come with a flashlight to shine on the paper so we could read. Later on when he had to put the amount to pay in the machine we had to take over the flashlight to shine on the bill because he could not read it..

The location is so so beautiful such a shame you do not exploit it well. I had a magnificent stay at the hotel. The gardens, pool but especially the staff are so...

Very bad service and the food quality doesn’t match with the price! I came with my wife right after iftar time, there were only 3 clients in the whole restaurant (2 tables). I ordered coffee, my wife also ordered coffee and a salade. Coffee was ok but the salad was not tasty. When we went to pay, there was extra water included in the bill with the charge of MAD75, tho we didn’t order any water! What makes it worse is how the waiter tried to explain, he said: “well because you only ordered 2 coffee and a salad in a table of 4 people that’s why I had to add water at least so that the controller wouldn’t complain.” 😑 The hotel is good but this action would not let me come back again and wouldn’t recommend...

I was overly cranky at being served a dish that was quite unlike its menu description, but even though I was unreasonably whiny with the server over my dissatisfaction because this was our first meal in Rabat after traveling 24 hours, the staff and management were incredibly gracious in their service recovery and their apologies were sincere. We ended up spending a happy evening there, tipping generously, and apologizing for being so reactive due to fatigue.
