Shawarma Show — Restaurant in Maputo

Not much value for money, slow and inattentive service, and appallingly rude management/ownership! The long story... We arrived hungry and were told that our falafel and beef kebab sandwiches would take 5... 7... 10 minutes tops. We waited more than 20 minutes with no explanation (and we were the only customers in the restaurant). My husband was very disappointed with the portion size for the price, so he ended up ordering another sandwich. He asked the waitress to mention his disappointment to the manager, and according to her the manager's response was, "Esta bem (It's okay)." There were 12-15 employees standing around (again, in an empty restaurant), but when our food came without napkins, we had to call someone from the top of the stairs to ask them to bring napkins. No one checked on us except to take our order and bring the food. The worst part was upon leaving. On the way to pay, the owner, Basaam, was standing in the doorway so that we had to squeeze by. When my husband asked him to not stand in the doorway when people are passing, he accused my husband of "being in a bad mood" and "trying to make trouble." When I stepped in and calmly tried to explain what experience in his restaurant had been, his response was "don't come back". He certainly doesn't have to...

Choice of indoor,outdoor and terrace seating. The indoor place is rustic and relaxed. The shawarma is good but there is room for improvement. Service is slow and one may have to call for their attention even though they seem overstaffed. A great place to hang out for the younger crowd given the choice of hookah/sheesa, pool tables and TV. However alcohol is not on the menu. Street parking is the only option but ensure ur car is left attended to by one of the various informal guards. Very nice shawarma restaurant. Normally has all the other usuals, just ask if something is missing from the menu. The place itself has a questionable decoration, but it's tolerable and just a bit out of place. It's also a good place to relax and smoke shisha if that's your thing. They also serve other kinds of food, like pizzas and hamburgers, but I haven't tried those yet. The prices are fair and the staff...
