Txhapo Txhapo Restaurante — Restaurant in Maputo

By far the best food and service that my boyfriend and I experienced in Maputo. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other restaurants we ate at, where the food was not as good. I am sad we only discovered this place on our last day in Mozambique as we would've gone back to try everything on their menu. We had the Bife A Txhapo and Porco Assado - we have never tasted such tender meat before. The Bife just melts in your mouth. Delicious sauce and great variety of vegetables. Food presentation is also beautiful, as if you are at a fine dinning restaurant. For dessert we shared the chocolate tart which was sooooo good, soft and not too rich or sweet - perfect balance with the ice cream. The sangria, wine (Casa da Malta) and coffee was good too. We can't wait to come...

My favorite restaurant in Maputo. I visit Txhapo Txhapo at least twice a week. Their creative direction forms a part of everything they do, from the layout of the restaurant, to food and drinks presented and peculiarity of taste they offer. I'd highly recommend the following items: Old Fashion Bourbon; Lamb Burger; Soy & Garlic Steak; Welligton Steak; Tuna Steaks in Salad Bed; Chocolate Tart Dessert; Beetroot Ice Cream (...) Dessert. And tell your waiter Valter recommended you...

Stunned, I love steak. Like I love steak so much I don’t order it often because I know 99% restaurants will mess it up. The Bife Txhapo was one of the best steaks I’ve ever ordered. Top three and I’ve eaten my way through +30 countries.

We also had their signature burger and coconut cake and they were fantastic. No doubt everything there is superb.
