Livega House — Restaurant in Khomas

When visiting Livega restaurant your expectations are heightened by the elegant decor the atmosphere and the beautiful presentation of the food. Great restaurants use fresh, superior quality ingredients and prepare them in a way that enhances their flavour. Service, decor and ambiance should further enhance the experience. All of this effort should justify the price. Sadly the food and the lack of attention to detail lets Livega restaurant down. On our recent visit we were offered the same menu as months before (the menus are dirty), I had hoped for a few changes, there have been none - lazy. It was then explained that only a few of the items on the menu were available - not okay for such a limited menu. I had the seafood pasta - frozen seafood mix was used - not okay! We did have a pleasant bottle of Pinot Noir which was the only good thing about our visit. For a shared starter, two mains and a bottle of wine we paid over a thousand dollars. Spent 1 night in a lean, clean, modern accommodation. To lean and modern they failed to put enough hooks for hanging towels... seem petty? Maybe .... The bed was beautiful, big, clean lovely linen but hard as concrete - result - sore back No windows that can open ... so no fresh air (not aircon air!) It’s not the same

At night when we tried to sleep, the neighbors dog decided it didn’t want to sleep and it’s incessant barking meant I needed to cover my ears and head for most of the night ... not very comfortable either

We called someone on the list of contact numbers and they said the dogs were removed before but have returned and they couldn’t do anything till the morning....

Having said all the above, the food was excellent and the waiter who served us for supper and breakfast was superb!

So go there for the food.... but If lean and clean and modern makes you feel good - just on face value ... then...

Their hotel has all luxury modern white walls and decor and all amenities you need. Highly recommended, better than the Hilton and others.

Update, unfortunately downgraded from 5 stars to 2 stars: They use telecom Namibia for their internet. At times it’s okay, then other times it’s extremely slow. To the point it’s unusable. Also cuts out often and I can’t stream without significant buffering. Averaging 2mbps to the good times of 8mbps. Tried to do some Media interviews and they cut out mid-stream. Also definitely can’t manage my business with this kind of slow Wi-Fi here. Hilton had better WiFi.

Please consider upgrading your WiFi to paratus telecom. The former hotel I stayed at had paratus and they averaged 15-35 mbps (10-20x the speed of Telecom Namibia), which is very great and never had interrupted service.
