On the phone we where told that we And our pet dog were welcomed into the restaurant. So we came there and when entered the restaurant we were quite rudely told to leave, even though we were told that we could be in the restaurant. So someone lied to us.
Don’t lie about things like that because we would be fine dining elsewhere if we had known the truth.
But because we were exhausted and really needed the rest from the blistering sun. We decided to try the food anyway.
So we were told to sit in a waiting area, next to the restroom and had the food. But the experience was horrible with lites going on and off and the environment not even close to what it would be if we were somewhere where we were able to sit in the restaurant area.
The server we had was wonderful, service minded and was polite but I think they forgot about us from time to time because we had to wait ridiculously long time for some salads. Tasty but it doesn’t take that long to make.
But waiting 1,5 hours for some salad… I don’t know but we have had better service.
Restroom options: They have restroom and it’s ok in standard. Not what I would expect at a lux hotel but it’s better than many places and they had western style toilets. Hand wash area and paper towels thats good...
Read moreWe were in Lumbini for a conference and visiting some Buddhist holy sites. We stayed at the Hokke Lumbini Hotel. It is a decent and comfortable hotel. The Lotus Restaurant inside Hokke Hotel catered for our meals. The food is simple, yet appetizing and delicious. Most importantly it serves hot food and is on time. The restaurant offers a range of Indian/Nepalese delicacies including several Japanese selections. My personal favorite is the vegetarian fried noodles; it is smooth and fried to the right amount of seasoning. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Ms Ishu, Ms Juna, and Mr. Shamsad. They acted quickly to our requests. After a few meals, they even anticipated what we wanted before we asked for it. Oh, by the way, they make good hot Cai tea too. After a long day, it felt good to have a warm yum-yum meal served by a team of dedicated staff before turning in for the night. Keep up...
