Wet 'n Wild — Restaurant in Alphen aan den Rijn

Horrible service experience.

My friend and I visited this restaurant yesterday (27.07.2025) around 8:45-9:00 pm and were told by a young waitress that the kitchen was closed. We explained that we were extremely hungry and hadn’t eaten anything, and politely asked if she could bring us even something small - like cookies or snacks. We made it very clear that we’d be grateful for anything. She said it was impossible - the kitchen was closed.

About 10 minutes later, we saw her bringing french fries and snacks to another table, which left us very confused, especially since she had just told us no snacks were available. We asked for clarification and I requested to speak with a manager. She came back with a young man, who I believe was the bartender, and said the manager was not there. I was told to speak to him instead.

When I asked for their names in order to leave a review, they refused to give them. I explained that this was unacceptable given the way we had been treated. There was no apology at any point for the poor communication or the way we were dismissed.

Eventually, they brought out what we had requested. The fries and nachos were fine, but the service was unacceptable. The management should seriously consider training the staff to treat customers with basic empathy and human decency. I’m not even talking about service standards here -...

We went there as a group of 4 people. 2 of us ordered stuffed eggplants but couldn't eat. It was the first time I have ever returned food that I have ordered . We ordered avocado burgers instead, it was better but the food still smelled long-time-used oil I think. They shouldn't use the same oil for a long time. It is not healty or tasty. In the end, we were not happy at all and still had to pay for one of the eggplant dishes which we couldn't eat and it was not our fault that we couldn't eat it. It was not international friendly. The wetsuit was already partly wet and smelly. Not enough staff. There was no one guiding or leading at all, we were lost and we picked the ski shoes and tried to start by ourself without knowing even the safety rules! I even told the girl who pushed people to go on the water that I don’t know what to do and she only said go small and pushed me! Complete waste of money.
