Café ‘t Sluisje — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Enjoying the sunset while the waitresses were quick and very nice to talk to. If that couldn't top it of, the quality of the burger was superb and made it all the better.

Food: (Bruger) The burger was made of quality meat, having the good amount of juiciness The fries were crisp and salted just right The side salad was fresh and gave a good contrast

Waitresses and service: Good, quick and very friendly. if not to busy, they will definitely entertain a small conversation and make some jokes

Overall I would definitely recommend going, the view over the water, the relatively quiet area, the good service and food create a nice ambiance and all in all...

Lovely terrasse and fries. Unfortunately everything else was average or poor. Service was average (one bad waitress and a lovely male waiters). Burgers probably the worst we had in ages (frozen/non fresh patties and bread, bacon and cheese not grilled enough). They only had one child seat (add on to a regular chair) which was broken…so we had to eat with our toddler on our laps…and the waitress just couldn’t care less… State of the toilet was pretty worrying: dirty, broken taps, no soap… 50odd euros for two was pretty expensive for what it was (two crappy burgers, two alright fries and a bottle of sparkling...

Unfortunately today I was confronted by racism for the first time in many years by the manager of this establishment. I went for a swim in a public area next to the cafe, my stuff was taken while I was swimming and was held behind the bar. When I went to collect it I was told I could not swim in that spot but had to swim in a different spot, the rules were never made clear to me and then I was told to leave. As I did not “belong there” really sad to see this kind of treatment still taking...
