Kosebasi Steakhouse & Lounge — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Stopped in the other night expecting a pretty standard steakhouse (I had just seen the name on Google and decided to ride my bike over and check it out) and was pleasantly surprised with a really great Turkish restaurant. Our amazing waiter, Huseyin, was kind enough to guide us through the menu (my Dutch isn't great), and made some really awesome recommendations that I never would have tried otherwise, but thoroughly enjoyed.

We sat down around 5:30 or 6:00 and the place was really quiet, but it eventually filled up with locals who seemed like regulars (always a good sign). Huseyin was also nice enough to humor me as I asked questions about the numerous tasty-looking dishes being ordered around me.

I'm only in Amsterdam for a short time, but I definitely plan on...

Good food for a decent price but the service is terrible. First few times the service was actually good, a couple of times a little lacking but not the end of the world. Final straw was when we arrived and sat down after the kitchen was closed. Of course we didn't know this. A very rude teenage guy barked what we were doing there to us and could barely bring up the effort to explain what time the kitchen closed. I can do without being insulted when patronising a restaurant. Even for Dutch standards this is too much. A shame, the food is pretty good and depending on the waiter the service can be...

Loved Loved Loved it ... The ambience is beautiful Convenient mall/gementee as well as open parking available near by Friendly, cheerful and helpful staff The place was packed to capacity and I think that itself is a testament of how good it is

Would definitely love to return If not for anything else...
