Visited whilst in Amsterdam with family and friends from London and Belgium. When we arrived we went to the bar to get drinks before starting out night. The staff members who greeted upon arrival were nothing short of lovely. We were advised that the money we had pre paid as part of the booking fee would be subtracted from the bill total to which we said that was fine and proceeded to make our way to the bar, however once we arrived at the bar we ordered our drinks but was mistakenly told to pay for the drinks which a member of our team did without realising. I therefore went to inform the man (pictured) who appeared to be in charge or in a managerial position, however when he came over to speak with us he not addressed us in an aggressive tone but refused to listen as-well as waving his hand in our faces stating that he would not refund the amount taken for the drinks and not subtract this from the initial payment when booking. Another customer (male) saw what was going on and asked us if everything was ok, I explained the situation to him and he therefore intervened speaking with the man (pictured) in dutch, he not only then said that he would not refund us again but said that we cant do simple maths, the kind man who was trying to assist again tried to explain the situation to which he staff member in question said I will only refund 15 euros which is a blatant insult as we paid well over that (bare in mind we are a group of 7) but at this point the money did not matter it was about the principle as-well as basic respect for customers visiting your establishment. It was again explained this was incorrect to which he then responded saying "You'll get it back if you're lucky and wait". At this point I realised that he was not only being rude but as the only group of black women at the bar he was not talking to anyone else the way he was addressing us and therefore believe it has racist undertones. I therefore refused to engage with this vile individual any longer and therefore went to the front desk and spoke to the lady who greeted us upon arrival. She immediately walked back over to the bar with me and asked me to point out the staff member in question, without speaking with him she went to the cash register and refunded me the full amount. I am still very angry at my experience at this restaurant and it is not the service described when advertising and WILL NEVER return as-well as advising anyone and everyone I know to never attend. He should be ashamed of himself and if this is the staff representation Harbour Club offers in 2023! I am in shock -- retrain your staff in basic etiquette and human decency please before your staff members leave a bitter taste in tourist visits to your establishment and I am sure there are PLENTY of other places deserving of our hard...
Read moreWILL NEVER COME BACK ANYMORE Terrible service, I work in the horeca since 10 years, and I hang out in many restaurants. Rarely I am so critical and I think this is the first time I leave a Bad review , but this place, I don't suggest to anyone. Really expensive , and you get wood chopsticks, not even in the worse sushi bar of the world. 0 interest from the service team To their guests, On the mice en place, I had a broken plate, dirty wine glass , and when I asked to get new one , they gave it to me after 20 min, I had to ask twice. I ordered starter for me and my girlfriend , we only received one dish , the other one they brought it after requesting it the second time ( and by the way, I ordered wagyu tartare, and the meat I have got for sure wasn't wagyu , and if it was , it was really bad quality of wagyu ). About the meat , I ordered a tomahawk, which had to be sliced at the table , they left it there , And when finally someone came to cut it , it was cold. The only thing that came in time , was the bill. I have never been treated so bad in the entire city of Amsterdam. I don't suggest this place to anyone. They are popular just for the good marketing they make on the Social media. If you go there , and you understand about horeca , you will be shocked, for how much unprofessionality there is. WILL NEVER COME...
Read moreThe construction works seem to last forever. Went there for the family Sunday. Great idea, imo. There are not a lot of places in Amsterdam that offer entertainment for kids and quality time for parents. So a big 5 for that. The food is good, as usual. The problem remains the service. We had few different waiters serving us. Whenever we needed something it took 10 minutes to catch their attention. There are lot of people working there but somehow there are busy all the time. Waiters also don't look around, they seem very focused on the task they are doing at that moment and then just rush to the kitchen. So it takes ages to get them, ask for the menu (that should be done automatically, right?), ask for the bill etc.. We waited 10 minutes to ask the waiter for the desert menu and after another 10 minutes he brought the regular menu (without deserts). So I thought there is no point ordering anything because it would take forever. Another point of attention is the lack of information or they do it on purpose. If you order wine (rose) by glass they will bring you Miraval which is 11 euro per glass. Don't get me wrong, it's a great wine but ordering by glass is by default house wine, unless you ask/inform the customer about the choice. So 2 stars less because of...
