Overall mid, the service we got was alright there was nothing special or anything but missed the passion of the staff. The food we had was a bit of a mixed bag.

My partner had an: eggs benedict avocado. There was way too much mayo/sauce on the sandwich and the only taste we got was from the bread and the mayo. It was an unpleasant mix and you could just not taste anything else.

Myself had an: Gerookte zalm. While the first expression was positive i soon found out that the layering of the sandwich was a mess even after trying to even t put myself. One bite i could only taste vinger and another time i had a mouth full of creme french.

When my pattern told the waitress at the check out that her benedict was not what she expected, the waitress acknowledged that they have an tendency to put too much mayo on the sandwich. What baffled me a bit was that it was known by the staff but it still served the way it was.

Overall, it was an okay lunch. It was a very nice looking cafe with a good atmosphere. The passion of the staff was kinda missing but that could be due to other reasons ofc the food was below what we expected at least of...

Just too expensive for what it offers, in my opinion. Coffee served lukewarm. A common complaint in previous reviews of this cafe. Food quite tasty but no more than that and not worthy of the prices. Cleanliness a bit of an issue. At 10.45 on a Friday morning in April 2024 crumbs all over the floor and tables and we also noticed that the fabric-covered seats really needed a good clean. Staff were friendly enough, I guess, although I felt a bit uncomfortable when the waitress asked me if I was paying by card or cash and then brought the bill and waited while I fished in my pockets for the cash, almost as if she felt I was going to leave without paying. This is a cafe I really enjoy sitting there with great coffee. The location is perfect, the coffee is amazing, the staff is super friendly, but only gets my 2 stars because of the food. We ordered one brunchtafel and one scones dish, and there came several disappointments. Firstly, I don’t think the chef knows what a scone is. Look at the pictures below, I would just call it a small bread with overloaded vanilla extract. Secondly, the croissant was very oily, dry and old. I don’t know how they managed to make it like a 3-day-old chorus. Besides, it mentioned on the menu that there would be ham on the brunchtafel but we didn’t get it.
