De Liefhebbers aan Zee — Restaurant in Beverwijk

My worst experience in the NL so far :(

I went there with my family. We asked to sit inside as the sun was hitting really hard and were with children. The waiter said we couldn't, even though it was empty inside. I asked why, and he told me he was just not serving there right now. We were in a good mood, so we decided to just have some drinks and go. I ordered wine, and my daughter started ordering her juice. At that moment, my phone rang, and I picked up the call. The waiter instantly interrupted my daughter and said he wouldn't speak with children. My friend tried to say something, and he said he wouldn't serve us all because I was on the phone and just left (I had ordered already!!!). We were left clueless, and even the tables around were commenting how rude the waiter was. We left.

Forget this place, walk a few meters down, and go to any other restaurant on the beach. They treat customers...

Fantastic high views over the beach and nice place to watch the sunset. Found the food to be very expensive and a few more vegetarian and vegan options on the menu would be good. When we arrived at our table we didn't receive a menu until 15+ minutes later and the waiter asked what drinks we would like without us having received a drinks menu to look at. Surely the food and drinks menus should be given as soon as people have arrived and are seated? Small issue but when you're paying high prices you notice these service related things. Food was delicious though, service with a smile and the waiter spoke...
