My family and I ate here this week and it is the worst food we have ever had on this island. We’ve been coming to Bonaire twice a year since the 1990s. We are the Burrata pizza, the nachos, and the special of Wahoo with “roasted vegetables”. The pizza was completely black to a crisp on the bottom and the crust, the tomatoes were in halved slices on the top and soaked in vinegar or balsamic vinegar. They gave us $1.50 discount on the burnt pizza. For the Wahoo, it said it was served with roasted vegetables but we were served very vinegar-y cooked collard greens and a scoop of mashed potatoes. There were no roasted vegetables. The fries were the best part of the meal. Then the nachos, we are convinced everything was store bought and microwaved. The cheese was shredded cheese that was heated up, it was not a cheese sauce, basically the equivalent of at home nachos with cheese from a bag. The nacho chips themselves were soggy and flimsy, we ate them with a fork and they didn’t break at all because they were so floppy. It was served in a bowl with the toppings on the side, and the person who ordered them immediately compared them to baseball nachos from the states. But he was too polite to complain. The salsa was the best part of the meal, but we speculate that it is from Warehouse as we bought the same salsa and it was very similar. Our waiter was very kind, doing his best and he gave good service but when asked about the Wahoo special and if it was fresh caught, he thought it was steak. We also ordered a “Ice Tea Peach” for $3.50, expecting fresh made tea with peach flavor, but we were brought a can of Lipton’s iced tea. That is so confusing, just list it as Lipton’s. Again, we only got a one dollar discount for the burnt pizza as we were told “yeah the chef is learning”. Two lady servers/managers were around us and we could tell they were talking about us as we were not happy with the pizza, but we did not make a big fuss. As we were leaving, the same young girl waitress that we saw pointing at us from the back and talking, came to take our plates as we left and asked how the food was. My family member said “the pizza was burnt, so it wasn’t great” and she bluntly said “Ok.” We are sorry to upset the staff, but the food just was not good. Especially when the fish you are serving is brought in from another country…when we on Bonaire where Wahoo is found regularly. This place is not serving fresh or...
Read moreI stayed within walking distance of this restaurant and ventured out one night to try it. I was pleasantly surprised by the very soothing atmosphere. While across from the water, the restaurant had tables around a pool which offered a beautiful blue glow.
If I had to rate this in just food and ambiance it would be a solid five. The steak was made to perfection with spice that danced on my tongue each bite. The decor made the ambiance very inviting and lovely to dine in. The service was not so great. I would have given a three but given that my waitress was bussing a large group, in addition to my solo dining, I gave it a 4. I wait for 25 minutes to bring dessert, 15 minutes for the first drink, and not long at all for the entree.
At that point I did not want the dessert and was going to ask for the check but I just ate it. It was a brownie a la mode. Since it was my bday they added a chocolate sentiment which I thought was awesome.
Beware that 5% is added to patrons using credit card. Waitress did not let me know this until the end. I suspect it may also be on the menu but I did not have my readers and may have missed it.
For steak, 2 pins colada’s, a beer, and dessert, my bill was under $70. Very reasonable considering US city prices.
I would dine here again. Knowing the wait may be long if they have a...
Read moreFriend and I stayed in Kralendijk June 2024. We came across at the Bloozz Restaurant after diving Bachelors Beach. This is an outdoor place pool side, with soft background music playing. Next time we are in Bonaire we are going to definitely stay at the hotel. The food was incredible and priced very well, compared to other places. We loved the food so much we ate there several times for dinner and lunch. We had pasta, seafood and steak. All the servers were very friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is very laid back and peaceful. Best...
