Taco Bell (Breda) — Restaurant in Breda

Walked in at 9pm, doors were open and lights were still on and an employee was cleaning the counter. I had to use the restroom before taking my train home, and since the ones in the station were already closed I asked if I could go here and order a dessert for on the go.

I would have been fine with either a simple no or a yes, but here is how the conversation went:

The employee cleaning said she wasn’t sure if I could go because they were closing up, but she was going to ask her manager. She went to the kitchen and I heard her ask if it was possible for someone to use the restroom. The manager replies;

“Is it a tourist?” “Yes.” “Well then, not a chance”

Mind you, I am a Dutch speaking Belgian working in the Netherlands and Belgium.

A passing train conductor who wanted to order something, as the doors were still wide open, apologised to me for 5 minutes straight for the manager’s behaviour because she was so shocked.

So if you don’t speak Dutch, avoid this place because there is a risk they will treat you differently. I can’t imagine how they would discriminate you if you don’t speak Dutch at all.

And to the manager, just say yes or no if someone asks if they can use...

A pretty healthy alternative to what most fast food places give you, apparently it is the healthiest in America! Anyways, the place itself is nicely close to the station, so if you tryna fetch some food it's well worth going there. The staff is always really nice to their customers, they have a toilet in their building which does the job, it's small but any time I went it seemed as close to completely clean as could be. The menu is also quite varied, if you want yourself a meal you can get those too. I myself recommend trying out the Big Bell Box, it's pretty packed for what you get and it tasty as hell! Have friends over which are hungry? Go fetch yourself some shareables from the menu! For the price most of it is very welcoming...

I got a Crunchwrap Supreme and Nachos Supreme and the food itself was great! The only big difference between USA and NL I need to note is that when I ordered, the lady asked me what hot sauce I wanted (mild, hot, fire) and I chose fire (I usually take diablo)

Instead of giving you hot sauce packets or you being able to take them from the drink station area, they put the hot sauce directly into my crunchwrap supreme. I think they should definitely change this system to the American one where you can just grab the hot sauce you like...
