Ristorante Dilano — Restaurant in Den Helder

We left after they messed up the first order. Service was terrible, although what we were served (when it finally arrived) tasted good.

Ordered carpaccio, bruschetta and a mini pizza margherita, but it took an hour to arrive and everything was served separately. We tried to signal the waiters for over 10 minutes, but they (all between 20-25) were too busy chatting. When we finally got our remaining bruschetta (2x single bruschetta) we decided to just pay, give feedback and leave.

When I asked for the manager, one of the 25yo waiters said that he was the manager for the evening. He gave us the option to stay and have a round of drinks to compensate, but he wasn't able to convince me things would be better.

The bill was €5,- per dish, including each of the single bruschetta, which as served would have been an appetizer where I worked (Ristorante Pirandello in Landgraaf). So we were off €32,- for a failed course of antipasti for 2 plus our son.

Before you proceed, this restaurant is like an "all you can eat" restaurant that serves SMALL dishes.

I am rating this 3 stars purely out of price to value ratio.

The food was good, quite a good scale of diverse dishes. In the end we have tried over half of all the dishes and they were enjoyable.

When it comes to value I haven't been feeling like it's just right.. First off there's an "all you can eat" arrangement, or going for single dishes which ends up being very pricey. A dish scales from about 3 to 5 euro but since portions are small it will easily cost about the same price or more as the unlimited arrangement.

In the end it's a nice place but you'll have to look past spending a bit more....

In tegenstelling tot vele reacties hier vond ik deze tent zeer matig op z'n best. Het begint eigenlijk al bij binnenkomst. Je mag als tweetal fijn aan een bartafel gaan zitten waar je zelf even moet bepalen of je, je benen in je nek vouwt of laat bungelen. Je krijgt natuurlijk een alternatief aan geboden in de vorm van een terrastafel (nee, nee doe geen moeite). Na 1.5 uur is dan gelukkig wel al het bloed uit je benen gelopen dat scheelt dan wel weer. Uiteindelijk ga je dan toch maar iets eten; tonnato vitello, op basis van een waterige tonijnmaoynaise, niet op smaak gebracht, kappertjes zoek ik nog altijd. De speciale kip pesto pizza, wederom niet op smaak, zo flauw als een briefkaart en dat was eigenlijk de strekking van elk gerecht. Kabeljauw droog gecremeerd, carpaccio niet vers (bevroren geweest vermoed ik). Pasta, niet zelf gemaakt, het was het allemaal verre van goed. Voor het geld dat men rekent voor deze porties buiten het all you can eat concept is veel en veel te duur. Keukenbrigade waar ik zicht op had werkte hard en persoonlijk vind ik het prettig als men eten bereid met handschoentjes aan maar, dat is wat mij betreft een stukje sociale hygiëne die niet iedereen in acht wil nemen....
