SHABU Experience Ede — Restaurant in Ede

Edit: an update after two years, and I do see some difference in the menu, not in a bad way! The unagi or eel is now more common I recognize, which is a delicious threat. Furthermore, the options are good and would like to go back again when around! Ohh, and they have a big dessert area too with cakes, ice-cream and candy.

I went here to pick up my ordered sushi which I ordered one hour in advanced. After arrival I had to wait a couple of minutes before it was finished. Happy about that, because I was sure the cooked dish was still warm. With two persons I shared the 40 pieces Summer Box (being advertised on Social Deal), some seaweed rolls and some extra maki rolls for around €20,- per head. More than enough, but not possible without a 45% discount deal. I enjoyed the sushi, fresh made, not soaky at all and decently filled with ingredients, also the fish. Our Shabu experience started well. We were welcomed by a smiley waitress who offered us a seat, explained how “all you can eat” works and asked about allergies. +1 point for making sure no allergens get into my food (another waitress brought a separate menu specifying which dishes wouldn’t be ok for me). The salmon was fresh, as well as veggies in the salads and rolls.

-100 points for the rest. Especially, flies and fruit flies disturbing us while eating. Not sure if this even complies with sanitary norms… Towards the end of our dinner the service also got worse (no one was asking how we are doing anymore 😂). We were farewelled with a huge pile of dirty dishes at the bar section & a pricey check.

Overall, would recommend their delivery, but not going to the restaurant, and not the all you can eat option. You get full quite fast and it’s not worth the money.

The meat was good, the fish also, but the rice is too dry and old so the sushi was kinda like the one in the supermarkets due to the rice, and the dessert bar is disappointing, everything was cheap and dry and really old the desserts seems to be made 20 years ago, 100 euros for 2 people is a little insane also. The food came before de drinks also, also a cola made in the machine without gas was 5 euros, you can see they try to reduce cost in everything, but with a high price.
