As a tourist, I was really looking forward to visiting this café because of its nice location by the river. I had made a reservation and arrived on time. I asked to sit outside to enjoy the view, and at first, it was fine. But shortly after sitting down, a staff member told me they don’t serve in that area and suggested we move to another section, even though there were no free tables. I noticed a table that was about to become free, and the staff said they would bring two extra chairs. However, when the table became available, they suddenly said there was no space for us and told us to go upstairs to the terrace. When we went upstairs, another waitress told us we couldn’t sit there either. This whole situation felt disorganized and unwelcoming, so I decided to leave with my group. The café’s waterfront terrace is a highlight in itself, with stunning views that create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal.

The food did not disappoint either. We enjoyed their vegan pies, which were both flavourful and beautifully prepared. Paired with fresh ginger tea, it was a simple yet delightful combination that showcased the café’s care for quality and freshness.

Beautiful restaurant, on the banks of the river Meuse. Located in the lovely village of Eijsden, this place is full of good surprises. Service is perfect, courteous, quick and patient with kids. Food is of an amazing quality, with very reasonable prices (that fisherman's salad!). Desserts are wonderful. Try the cheesecake! Finish it off with the coffee, served with a very nice cookie, liqueur and whipped cream accoutrement.
