Drawn in by the high reviews on Google Maps, we decided to visit this restaurant, expecting a pleasant evening of delicious food and great service. Little did we know, we were in for a different kind of adventure, a test of our patience.
We arrived at around 6 pm to find the place quite empty. Optimistically, we thought this meant we’d receive quick service. Instead, we sat for 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. There were no menus, no greetings, just an eerie sense of neglect. I had to call over the waitress myself, and her indifferent response of “What do you want?” was far from the warm welcome I’d hoped for. After requesting a menu, we waited yet another 10 minutes, which was baffling considering the place wasn’t crowded at all.
When we finally got the menu, I was amazed at how low the prices were,it almost seemed too good to be true. This gave us some hope, and we went ahead and ordered a lentil soup, two pides, a lahmacun, a salad, and two drinks. Little did we know, this was the beginning of a long waiting game.
After 20 minutes, the lentil soup finally arrived. The waitress explained that since they had run out of soup, she made it from scratch. We appreciated the effort. We ate the soup, and another 20 minutes later, the salad made its appearance, barely. The waitress informed us there was no proper salad left, and what she brought us was just a handful of iceberg lettuce. We decided not to make a fuss and accepted it, holding onto the hope that the pides and lahmacun would redeem the experience.
By this point, an hour had passed, and we still hadn’t received the main part of our meal. As time dragged on, we watched table after table arrive, order, eat, and leave, including a table that came after us and had already finished their pide. My suspicions grew, and I decided to approach the chef to ask about our order. Unsurprisingly, it turned out they had indeed forgotten about it.
We waited another 15 minutes before the pides and lahmacun finally arrived, and unfortunately, they were far from worth the wait; bland, poorly prepared, and without any redeeming qualities. And as for the drinks? Unsurprisingly, they never arrived, so I ended up fetching them myself.
Overall, it was a disastrous experience. Between the inattentive service, forgotten orders, and disappointing food, this highly-reviewed restaurant turned out to be anything but worth the hype. If you’re in the mood for an adventure in testing your patience, this place might be worth a visit, but otherwise, I recommend saving your time and appetite for...
Read moreWorst turkish restaurant we have ever been to. And we have been to a lot. Not only here, but in different countries, also many places in turkey.
The service was slow, terrible. The salad was not fresh. The meat dishes, chicken, yaprak were way too salty. Not nicely tastefully, just tasted salt. But the lahmacun was basially tasteless.
We had high expectations, but we regret going. None of us ate our food, waste of money. I like to think we were unlucky, but not too convinced....
