Brasserie de Corner — Restaurant in Hardenberg

We visited this restaurant twice for lunch, and our impressions were mixed. The atmosphere is very cozy, the dining area is spacious, and the staff is friendly and attentive, which immediately creates a pleasant experience.

On our first visit, we tried the mustard soup, carpaccio, and schnitzel. All the dishes were very tasty, and the portions were generous. The mustard soup was creamy and flavorful, while the schnitzel had a perfect crispy crust and was delicious. We were very satisfied with our meal and decided to return.

On the second day, however, the quality of the food was noticeably lower, likely due to a different chef. We ordered Voartse Saté, but the sauce was overly sweet and unappetizing, which was disappointing. The portion of fries served with the schnitzel was smaller than the previous day, and the schnitzel itself lacked its crispy crust—it seemed like it had been pre-cooked and simply reheated. On the bright side, the mustard soup was still delicious, and the warm bread was a nice touch. The dark bread was tasty, but the white bread was bland and flavorless.

Another downside was the inconvenient sink in the restroom. The faucet was so small that it was difficult to reach the water, which made washing hands quite uncomfortable.

Overall, the restaurant leaves a good impression thanks to its atmosphere and service, but the quality of the food, unfortunately, depends on which chef is working that day. We visited this restaurant after a long trip from Sweden to England, we arrived after food service had closed and the staff kindly agreed to make us a meal. The meal was absolutely delicious. We then tried to get a taxi back to our accommodation as there was no taxi service available the manager offered to give us a lift. Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing service....

Hier met z’n viertjes wezen eten en 140 euro lichter. Erg duur voor wat je krijgt en we hadden niet eens dessert genomen. Kwaliteit laat echt te wensen over. Spareribs waren veel te vet en helemaal gaar gekookt(??), echt niet lekker, geen lekkere kruiden geen lekkere bite. Goedkoop vlees. Zo maak je geen spareribs mensen. Echt teleurgesteld en veel te duur. Owja, er zat een sausje bij in een bakje… wat een afknapper. Spareribs hoor je te marineren en geen goedkoop sausje bij te leveren. Hamburger was okay, maar aan de kleine kant en zeker voor deze prijs. We waren de enige klant en we moesten veel te lang wachten ook. Jammer, maar we gaan er nooit meer heen.

Je kan er beter lunchen, dineren niet aan te raden.

Bediening was trouwens goed, niets op aan te merken verder behalve dat het wat vlotter (sneller)...
