I had the pleasure of spending two wonderful nights at this hotel restaurant nestled in the beautiful countryside of Northern Netherlands. Throughout my stay, I was deeply touched by the warmth and friendliness of the Dutch people. As an international student from China, traveling all the way from The Hague, I initially chose this hotel to explore the northern region of the Netherlands during my weekend break. Little did I know, I would encounter unexpected warmth and kindness here.

The ambiance of the restaurant is incredibly elegant, situated within a villa, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Despite arriving at the restaurant at 9:30 in the evening, well past closing time, a kind-hearted waitress went out of her way to personally prepare a "special dinner" for me, which turned out to be bread with butter. Though simple, it was filled with her love and care. Despite my sincere apologies for arriving late due to my oversight, she greeted me with genuine warmth and understanding, which truly touched my heart and exemplified the kindness of the Dutch people.

Although I insisted on paying 20 euros as a token of appreciation for the food and her kindness, her manager adamantly refused my payment and only charged me 8 euros, essentially covering the cost of the food. Their selflessness and generosity moved me deeply, and I am sincerely grateful to the waitress and her manager for providing me with a dinner that money cannot buy and for showing me the kindness and warmth of the Dutch people.

Overall, my experience at Restaurant Waddengenot was truly memorable, and I will cherish this moment forever. If I ever have the opportunity to visit the northern Netherlands again, I will definitely revisit this restaurant. Thank you for your hospitality and...

We got back from Wadlopen around 8:30 pm and then went straight to dinner. This was amazing because everyone had a free shot of Waddengenot Kruidenlikeur. Then we had a 3 course meal. My friend ordered the bread board appetizer which had bread, aioli, tapenade, herb butter and regular butter. I ordered the Mustard Soup which is from Groningen. My other friends ordered the Tomato soup. These portions were huge, like American sized portions. Amazing especially after mudflat walking. We also ordered some beers: the local blonde as well as the local bock. Nice beers! Next we had our next course which was the main dishes. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. My friends got the fish and chips as well as the beatroot burger. Once again portions were large which is a plus. The dishes also had fries, coleslaw and salad to share. Tried everything and all super good but I really enjoyed the schnitzel. For the last course, it was dessert and we all got the ice cream except for one who got the tea. The ice cream was absolutely loaded. It had chocolate crumbles, whipped cream, caramel sauce, white chocolate and some edible coffee beans. Great way to end the meal and we all couldn't finish the ice cream, too full. Not sure why this place got low review but I went way beyond...

Korte samenvatting: ga er niet heen met mensen met een intolerantie, ga er niet heen met groter gezelschap, ga er ook niet heen voor een goede prijs/kwaliteitverhouding.

De bediening van de jonge meiden was vriendelijk en het meeste eten was lekker. Echter was de kwaliteit van de service rommelig en ik zou hier écht niet komen met vrienden/familie die een voedselallergie hebben. We waren met een groter gezelschap (à 9 mensen) om daar te lunchen, wij waren naast enkele anderen de enige die daar waren. Ons eten werd op niet-afgestemde tijdstippen geserveerd. De helft kreeg het eten pas toen de andere helft met gemak klaar was. We moesten om onze extra garnering vragen waarvoor we hadden betaald. Bleek dat we die met opzet niet hadden gekregen, omdat ze extra garnering bij het andere menu hadden gedaan die inmiddels op was. Dit was niet gecommuniceerd. We kregen eieren en mayonaise bij ons veganistische menu - die als veganistisch wordt aangeboden op de kaart (we hadden een lactose gevoelig persoon in ons gezelschap). De sla bij de salade was karig en hebben om meer gevraagd. Dit kregen we niet, ondanks het toezeggen van de oudere serveerster. Misschien kwam dat omdat ze ons niet aankeek terwijl we tegen haar spraken. De salade kan als voorgerecht en als hoofgerecht worden besteld. Echter kregen we van de serveerster te horen dat de porties even groot zijn, terwijl er toch echt een andere prijs op het menu staat voor het voor- en hoofdgerecht.

Al met al een slechte ervaring met grote irritaties. Ik heb deze review proberen in te korten, maar er zijn zo veel steken laten vallen in anderhalf uur tijd, dat dit bijna onmogelijk maakt. Ik heb spijt dat ik eerst heb betaald voordat ik heb geklaagd, het was hoogstens 1/3e waard van wat ik...
