Restaurant Seray — Restaurant in Hillegom

I'm originally from the Netherlands and grew up on Indonesian cuisine. I can without a doubt say that Seray is the ultimate the Netherlands has to offer in Fine dining. This was not my first visit, and it won't be my last. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Every dish is explained. Ray comes out and welcomes every guest and hands you a warm towel to start your experience. There are explanations about the drinks, the tea and the wine. We had the "rijsttafel" with dishes selected by Ray himself and a Satay Gambing as extra. Whenever I go to Seray, I always know I'm in for a treat, but they always exceed even my highest expectations. Zonder twijfel één van de beste restaurants waar ik ooit gegeten heb, we komen hier dan ook érg graag.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel en een attente gastheer, met kennis van de gerechten en zijn heerlijke wijnen.

De gerechten zijn stuk voor stuk voortreffelijk, maar de rijsttafels zijn toch wel het uithangbord van het restaurant. Er is keuze uit een traditionele rijsttafel (tafel van Elly) die in één gang uitgeserveerd wordt of de tafel van Ray die in twee gangen wordt uitgeserveerd (met een verfrissing tussen de twee gangen). Waarvan de laatste zorgt voor wat langer tafelen, gezellig met een grotere groep of een romantisch diner.

De wijnen sluiten perfect aan bij de gerechten. De gastheer adviseert graag over welke wijn aansluit bij het gekozen gerecht. Er is altijd een (wisselende) speciaal uitgelichte wijn, waarbij ik nog nooit terug ben gekomen op mijn keuze. Zeker het aanraden waard om te proberen.

Wat een heerlijk verfijnde smaken en perfect op elkaar afgestemde gerechten voor een eerlijke prijs.
