We as Dutch, like to support our locals when we can. So, I took the liberty to visit a local bakery called "Peter bakt brood", translated as Peter bakes bread. Well, as a Chef and someone who is hard to impress when it comes to food dishes, this baker knows his stuff! Simple, real, right in your face ingredients is what he uses and puts his love and attention in what he does. Artisanal bread that is baked the traditional way, the one that you just eat as is, as soon as you step out of the bakery, yeah that one. Loved the "Pain de Champagne". The apple/pear pie is to die for, the best one I have ever eaten till now! Fresh ingredients, crispy crust, nice color, delicious tangy/sour taste in your mouth, incredible smell.
