Pizzeria Piccola Italia 🇮🇹 — Restaurant in IJsselstein

I have visited this restaurant many many times over the past couple of years and they have never disappointed me.

Both in location, staff, service and food this place bests any Italian restaurant I've been to.

I the last couple of years it became even better when they renovated the place to have a more modern and sophisticated look. The restaurant is easier to navigate now and the restrooms are very modern as well.

I had a party there for a large group of people and we were able to rent the back half of the restaurant. There was a side entrance that we could use so the Elderly didn't have to walk all the way through the restaurant in order to reach the back part. There is an outside area too, so if you want to catch some fresh air or if you fancy a smoke you can go and do that there.

If you are looking for either a place where you can have a party for a large group, or just have a dinner with 2 to 8 people with a real Italian feel, look no further, this is the place to be.

Biggest bonus is that the staff is the most professional staff I've seen in...

Pizza met een bijgerecht van geduld (héél veel geduld)

Om 18:00 netjes aan tafel, restaurant halfvol, dus we dachten: “Dat komt vast goed.” Spoiler: nee. Terwijl de ene na de andere afhaalpizza vrolijk de deur uitging, zaten wij er watertandend bij alsof we deelnamen aan een sociaal experiment: Hoe lang blijft een klant zitten zonder eten?

Na 40 minuten toch maar gevraagd of onze bestelling op een ezel richting Italië was gestuurd. Er werd toen voor het eerst ‘even in de keuken gekeken’. Vriendelijk. 15 minuten later kwam het eten. Hoera! Totaal 55 minuten wachten – niet slecht als je bedenkt dat we alleen maar wilden eten, 4 pizza’s die letterlijk binnen 5 min uit de over schieten…geen viergangenreis door de tijd.

Service? Die stond waarschijnlijk ook in de afhaalrij. Geen excuses, geen uitleg, geen enkele vorm van aandacht….wil je nog ijsklontjes was een service vraag. Alleen een herhaald “het komt eraan”, wat langzaam begon te klinken als een slechte grap.

Advies: haal je pizza af, neem er thuis een drankje bij en bespaar jezelf een hoop tijd. Of ga ergens heen waar je je als gast wél welkom voelt – IJsselstein heeft gelukkig genoeg alternatieven waar klantvriendelijkheid...

The pizza was honestly very bland. The tomato base was very watery and had hardly any flavour.

The base was decent but could not make up for the lack of flavour. I was expecting more having read other reviews. Honestly most of the fast food pizza joints have better pizza than this.
