Teahouse 'De Leidsehout' — Restaurant in Leiden

Arrived and sat at a table that said reserved, but had some empty glasses. So we asked the staff if we could sit before the reservation would arrive, she would check but eventually would never get back to us. We just sat down, with dirty glasses and no menu's, so after about 10 minutes we asked some tables around us for menu's and another 10 mins later we had to more or less beg for attention after which we order some drinks. While ordering we asked for a beer to which the reponse was that they were completely out of beer. Straight after to my suprise a collegue came walking out with some beers and after checking they admitted to make a mistake. Can happen, but we heard similar conversations going on at tables around us. Another 20 mins went by where nobody served the drinks, clean the glasses from the previous table or even thought to ask if we were already being helped in any way; so we just left again and I doubt we will return to this place. The staff was really unorganized, seem to serve wrong food/drinks to tables or just forget complete order, aswell as not cleaning the empty tables, which allowed the birds to feast on the left overs. My friend reserved high tea for two last week, we liked the location , it's beautiful. However very bad service. The original table reserved for us was given to other people , as we specifically said we wanted to sit outside. However the waitress/ or owner kept suggesting to sit inside. The high tea sandwiches are of bad quality ( stale bread) , she refused to offer us alternatives to a specific sandwich ( we don't eat pork, we forgot to mention that earlier, we realised that late yes ) however we asked anyway , but she was not even willing to suggest something else ( she said she would look for something for us , but never came back after all we were first time customers.

Me and three friends went there to rest for a bit. We ordered coke and ice tea, after trying to get their attention for about 10 minutes, and evwntually got them. That was also the only thing we got, as we waited up to around an hour for sandwiches and bread that, in the end, never showed up.

Turns out getting their attention to order, which took another 20 or so minutes, wasn't enough; they never actually wrote down the order in their machines. We left instead of waiting another quarter year.

We did however reluctantly pay 11 bucks for four drinks.
