De Rede van Bataviahaven — Restaurant in Lelystad

This place is one of the local Lelystad gems! The food is amazing, it doesn’t have like a weird taste that you usually get with restaurants here. The waitress answered all our questions about food restrictions and they seem to take everything vegetarian VERY seriously with separate friers and all which also makes it very muslim/halal friendly. I was able to enjoy the meal with peace of mind, they are open till 11pm most of the time. They even brought us a bday surprise for a guest who was with us and it was so cute! The vibes are amazing it’s the perfect atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable with HUGE portions! We ended up ordering round 2 but this was the only pic that I had. Honestly 10 out of 10 will definitely become one of my staples...

De Rede has an industrial interior and looks nice and sophisticated, however I was very disappointed with the food.

I ordered the Caesar salad as a starter and the ribs as the main course.

The salad was bland and there was an overkill of Gorgonzola cheese on it. Also the chicken was very dry and sliced very thinly like slices you would put on a sandwich.

The ribs were also very dry and tasted bland and not smokey at all. The only smoke flavor came from the sauce, but there was way too little sauce. The fries were nice and the coleslaw and aioli were...

Heads-up for someone who is driving: the special coffee contains strong alcohol without being explicitly labeled. This almost made me unable to drive. Also, no price was indicated. The manager explained that a droplet with "0%" means zero alcohol, although no alcohol-related label was involved, and anything without the label should be automatically considered alcoholic. Good for him. If you are not smart enough to ask whether a coffee contains alcohol I don't suggest you to come here to eat. And the quality of food definitely didn't...
