Big Fish — Restaurant in Lingewaard

Good food and service.

The staff were very welcoming and provided great service. Because of coronavirus restrictions only outside dining was permitted and it was very comfortable despite the weather being not so great. (4/5)

The food was delicious and very well presented, I had a salad that was served with 3 generous pieces of white fish. It was delicious! After finishing our food I ordered a Greek coffee. This was also well made and served at the reite temperature (4/5)

Unfortunately there was one issue that made me feel very uncomfortable! The staff were allowing people to enter the building to use use the toilets without wearing a face mask 😷. Because we were seated next to the door this made me feel very uncomfortable. The current restrictions in the Netherlands make it mandatory to wear a facemask when entering a restaurant to use the toilets. Despite there being a large board in the doorway stating a mask must be worn the staff did not enforce this at all. This really let down the whole experience for me and I hope if they read this review they will prehaps change the way they handle this issue. This review would have been 4 stars...

Wat ik hiervan vind? Tja het is in Huissen hè 😬 daar kom ik niet vaak. Je kúnt alleen al gaan voor de kapper Raf én de koffietjes bij Big fish -ik zeg het maar- want behalve dat de vertrouwde heren van Big Fish zalige koffie hebben en maken is de gastvrijheid van hoog niveau! Er hangt een huiselijke sfeer, en telkens is het compleet; zelfs met regen kun je buiten tegen de gevel droog op een kussentje zitten. Binnen is er nog net plek rond de lunch deze regenachtige dinsdagmiddag. Hoog, laag op een bankje of aan de bar; kan allemaal. Kaarsjes overal aan, iedereen zegt je gedag, toilet onberispelijk schoon, en heel fijn: nergens van die rare geurtjes. Menu met uitgebreide keuze én specials (bagel voor je neus uitverkocht) Hier hebben ze tijd én aandacht voor je, zelfs als het druk is! Attent, zorgzaam, kwaliteit, royaal, persoonlijk, verwend zijn allemaal van toepassing. Verrassend ook! Net niet het broodje bal wat je verwacht. Méér dan de tartaar, Valpolicella erbij en we vieren ineens een lunchfeestje. Complimenten aan de chef.
