I ordered the duck ( edit : venison) and it was not warm . Not wanting to deal with the hassle of sending it back , I just ate it. The restaurant deserved a chance to make it right , but serving food that is not warm is a basic error . Short of re preparing the dish and then having to wait , the meal experience was ruined anyway . If it was warm , I would rate it as mediocre as half of my venison portion was borderline raw and the other piece was stewed ( think pulled pork ) . The price was 26 euros as well which puts it in an upper price tier in the area. I struck it up to bad luck, but I hope the restaurant uses this for feedback for future patrons. The atmosphere and service were good

Edit : My mistake - the main course was the hert ( venison), not duck. However , my review still stands . I am also definitely a real customer . Our visit was on Feb 14 , 2025. We were a party of 4 who were later joined by more people . Also , as I mentioned in my review , the restaurant should have had a chance to make it right . But frankly , not serving food warm at a professional establishment is a very basic error. And once again- as a paying customer who was trying to have a relaxing meal I just did not feel like making a complaint , having the food removed , wondering what the solution would be ( if the food was served lukewarm in the first place , my expectations were quite low for a reasonable solution ) . But correct , everyone deserves a second chance . My goal is not be vindictive, but to give an honest review with the hope the other clients will hopefully receive a professional product . Also , three of us ordered the “hert” and it was all served lukewarm.

But considering the response and false accusation that I was not a real customer supports my critical review . I’m glad I did not complain . Sorry , our food...

Went to the large room. Food was on the chair, so they switched it. Onion soup as a starter, super salty, plenty of onion skin put in. I only ate half. Main was spare ribs which arrived at the table black. We thought they had been burnt so sent them back. After a while we were informed that in fact this was the intention of the chef, so reluctantly had them back. I gave half of min to someone else. Did not bother with desert and would never go back. 04052023 De kalfskroketten van Ad van Geloven! Een zonnig plaatsje op het terras gevonden. Ja, de locatie is gewoon goed zo aan de rand van de Oisterwijkse plassen. Voor mij een twaalf uurtje. Ziet er goed uit. En, dan het tomatensoepje smaakte. Vervolgens de kalfsvleeskroket opengesneden. Een krokant jasje omsluit een witte massa, de rou. Hier en daar bespeur en ontdek ik licht rosé puntjes. Geen kalfsvlees. Voorgelegd aan de bediening. "Onze kroketten herbergen geen draadjesvlees!" Op mijn vraag wat de rose puntjes waren, kregen we geen antwoord. In mijn ogen niet meer dan een rou in een krokant jasje gebakken. Het kalf is er langs gelopen, heeft er overheen heegesnoven om vervolgens snel weg te lopen. Hoe kun je iets van Ad van Geloven op de kaart zetten als je deze alleen op zijn naam gelooft. Jammer, zo'n mooie locatie daar verdient de bezoeker ook kwaliteitsproducten. In een vleeskroket hoort ook draadjesvlees te zitten. Geen vreemde rosé bolletjes. Kijk uw rekening na En dan bij het afrekenen mogen we ook consumpties van een ander tafeltje afrekening. Ruim 24 euro meer. Goed dat we de rekening nakeken. Slordig.

EEN-METER-LUNCHPLANK👍 Na twee jaar weer eens hier in coronatijd geluncht. Vooraf is het handig te reserveren. Bij binnenkomst loop je makkelijk het in te vullen aanwezigheidsformulier voorbij. Personeel verwijst er jammergenoeg ook niet naar. Daarnaast is het niet prettig dat Jan-en-alleman deze gegevens zo kan inzien dit is niet AVG proef. Betere mogelijkheid gezien bij Groot Speik. Besteld de meter-lunchplank voor twee tot drie personen. Ruim voldoende en genoten van 7 verschillende gerechtjes. Dikke voldoende. Zeker een aanradertje.
