La Pipa Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Oldenzaal

We ordered at the kiosk and selected "eat here". We took place at one of the free tables and waited for our pizza to arrive. The Dutch couple on the table next to us received their food shortly after we sat down, on a plate with fork and knife, brought by a server (as you would expect when eating at a restaurant). Our food came in a pizza box, even though we clearly stated that we want to eat in the restaurant. After asking twice for plates, we received those. After we put the pizza from the box to the plate on our own, we also asked for fork and knife (which was clearly available, as we've seen at the couple next to us). After asking two times for cutlery, in a friendly way, the owner shouted at me very aggressively that there is no fork or knife in Napoli and we won't be able to get those. After I sat down, since I don't wanted to argue in a full restaurant,he put cutlery on the table next to us. I was not asking for anything special or impossible. Just two forks and knifes to eat my pizza. If you continue treating your guests like this, I'm sure your place will be empty soon. Remember: we're in Oldenzaal and not Napoli! Even in Italy it is no big deal to eat your pizza with a fork. You will receive those without asking or be shouted at.

The older server was very friendly and apologized for the behavior of the owner.

We didn't feel welcome at all! My husband and I wanted to eat our pizza at one of the seats in the restaurant - so we specified this in our order at the terminal. We still got the pizza in a the box. When we asked, we were given a plate, but had to put our pizza on it ourselves. We didn't get fork and knive and had to ask for it twice, because the employees refused to give it to us. When my husband asked whether we really couldn't get cutlery because the pizza is really hard to eat, one of the employees shouted at him (!) that in Napoli you don't eat pizza with cutlery and that's why he wouldn't give us any. Only when we said that the couple at the table next to us also had cutlery he brought us some, but didn't give it to us, instead put it on the table next to us. We have never been treated like this in a restaurant! The pizza was very tasty, but we still...

Na maanden vast klant te zijn, ben ik vandaag voor het eerst teleurgesteld. Het zou zeker zijn dat de baas niet aanwezig was. Maar ik kreeg een pizza met kleine stukjes geknipt vlees. Zoals je de foto’s ziet, dan denk je net zoals ik wtf? Ik heb gebeld en ik kreeg kort antwoord. Kom maar terug. Ja dat kan niet als je net je peuter in bed heb gelegd. Bezorgers waren niet aanwezig. Nu een mail gestuurd, maar ik voel mij genoodzaakt om toch de review aan te passen tot het opgelost word. Ik heb hier de volste vertrouwen in (want de baas is een toffe gast). Toch als dit de kwaliteit is, mag het ook benoemt worden. Want dan raken ze een vaste klant kwijt (ik bestel bijna wekelijks). Helaas is mijn vrijdag avond verpest. Zie mail, hopelijk kan er een oplossing gevonden worden. Dat zou wel zo netjes zijn ivm het geld dat betaald is voor een magerita. 🫣

Ik bestel minimaal elke week in het weekend een pizza bij Via Toledo. De beste pizza dat mij terug smijt naar de vakanties in Italië. De warme momenten die ik met familie daar had. De pizza smaakt boven natuurlijk lekker. Vooral het deeg is wat mij terug laat komen. Naast de verse toppings. En met de slechte dag zoals gister word je dochter verast met een eigen konijnen pizza. Zo heeft ze gister voor het eerst pizza gegeten en genoten!

Dankbaar dat jullie in Oldenzaal gestart zijn. Zo heb ik een stukje Italië...
