The food here is authentic and wonderful. It's run by Indonesians. The staff speak English, so if you're travelling from abroad and want a taste of gazing Indonesian food, then head over.

The restaurant is located in a very picturesque, quiet town. It's so quiet that you might think the restaurant is closed, but it's not. Once inside the atmosphere is buzzing. Welcoming, friendly staff. English, German and Dutch menus available.

The "rice table" is highly recommended. There are various versions depending on your taste and appetite level, but they all offer a sampling of lots of different dishes. The nasi goreng, which is mixed with sambal (Indonesian chilli paste), is delicious.

Very reasonable prices for the amount and quality of...

A bowl of rice is 23 euro, truly overpriced for what you get in Oosterhout. Expecting curry sauce for Gulai Kambing, it was dry with tiny lamb pieces. Food is very salty and seriously lacking of the Indonesian flavour. Taste has been adapted to the Dutch tastebud - not spicy, very light (light coconut milk and minimum spices).

The satay is tasty with different (too salty) sauces. No condiment like sambal given. Cendol as dessert is the best! Friendly smily service, bit of wait.

Maybe add Balinese music would be better for the theme to sell as an upscaled restaurant, if not selling authentic Indonesian food. I like the plates used, but the cutlery is basic. Table candle was not lit up....

I tried several Indonesian restaurant across the NL, and I'd say that this is one of the best (I'm Indonesian!!) didn't expect it since they're not in the big cities 😊👌 We had the rijstaffel menu, I ate there with my Dutch family and they also enjoyed it. The restaurant was full when we were there during dinner on weekend, really shows the quality. My favorite was chicken satay, opor ayam, and nasi kuning (sooo good), but the rendang & gado-gado were also nice :) We had a warm chat with the Mbak Yati (I think), she was really nice especially when she knew that we originated from the same city in...
