We had a delicious dinner here yesterday! The food was really fresh and flavorful. The servers and owner(?) were friendly and helpful.
We have some small suggestions - there were many delicious vegetable-based dishes in the appetizers, but far less in the main dishes. We are not vegetarian, but we still like having a lot of vegetables together with meat. The menu didn't really have this for the main dish, so we improvised by ordering the appetizer mezza's for 3 people, plus one main dish "mixed grill". This was a perfect amount of food for us, and a good balance of meat + veggies!
The music also felt like it didn't fully fit with the restaurant (a bit loud pop music), but we only noticed at the beginning when we first entered.
I don't know if it is normal in a Turkish restaurant, but there was no alcohol. My stepfather would have enjoyed a beer. Maybe it's an idea to have alcohol free beer? Just a few minor suggestions!
Overall we really enjoyed it and would come back!! Thanks for a...
Read moreAmazing, authentic food! We got the baba ganoush, mix grill for 2, and Turkish tea. The baba ganoush was nice and fresh, it came with some warm grilled bread.
The mix grill for 2 people was absolutely delicious! ❤️ Chicken wings, chicken skewers, lamb skewers, aidana (minced lamb and veal), potatoes, salad, grilled vegetables, rice and bulgur. And with a special grilled bread. Incredible! And at only 25 per person for so much food it's a very good deal. And the Turkish tea was tasty as well. My boyfriend also tried the Turkish drink Salgam. It's a fermented purple turnip drink, it's savory and spicy. Probably very good for your gut bacteria, but the taste is...special 😅.
The owner's wife was there as well and she was very attentive, explained the food, chatted with the guests, made everyone feel very welcome. We will definitely go again and bring our friends as well. They also had nice Turkish music in the background, and the place has a very...
Read moreFamily owned business, the food is so fresh and tasty that you forget you are in a restaurant! But the thing I loved the most is the owners Emine, a lovely lady always ready to explain every dish adding some amazing story telling about the origin of the name (I learn a lot today!), and Imam her lovely husband who is a master chef who moved his restaurant from Amsterdam to Rotterdam less than a year ago. I had such a lovely evening that I forgot to be in the cold Rotterdam! Emine see you soon for breakfast ;)
I was so involved in the conversation with Emine that I forgot to take pics to the food! I only took one of...
