What a gem. As a true coffee addict, and coffee snob, I am in front of the line when a new coffee hub opens. While in Rotterdam, the hype was all about SpiceKix. It took me a while to get there, because In all honesty the name was not that appealing to me. But then. Upon entry, I was immediately surprised about the interior, its clean, modern, everything you could expect from a modern coffee bar. One thing was different, the smell. The aroma. Itâs a mix of coffee and spices - whatâs in a name right? Anyhoo. Aromas that tickle the senses and, initially, donât immediately connect with my coffee mood. However after tasting some drinks, it all made sense. We had the Moroccan 7 spice coffee. What a sensation. A must try. We had the Mexican coffee. Also good, not my fav, but everyone loved it. I had a Spanish coffee, with condensed milk. Which was an absolute delight after the lunch we had (elsewhere). Since I wanted to try everything, I also ordered a chai latte. The latter was the only one that disappointed slightly. Perhaps the flavors of the drinks before were still too overpowering for my tastebuds, but the chai lacked a bit of oomph. It was the one drink that I expected to blow me away with a spice sensation. It shouldâve been more spicy. Overall. I cannot recommend this place enough. Go visit. Go taste. Go experience. The staff is also really nice. I need to have one in Amsterdam. If youâre a coffee fan, and want something really good and different, then go...
Read moreThis place was a bit too over-rated and overhyped on social media. When we got inside, the place looked like we were at a funeral. The staff was very serious, like a smile would cost them their job. The prices were ridiculous. My matcha with fresh strawberries wasn't the best I've ever had. My friend ordered a 'special' coffee but he said it tasted like coffee that wasn't strong at all. My other friend liked her matcha with mascarpone, she just found it a little bit too sweet. I tasted it and I liked it. The place is very tiny, we got a seat next to the toilet which was very inconvenient. People kept opening and closing the door, it was just uncomfortable. Where we sat, the view was not nice either. Lots of plastic buckets on top of each other and the staff kept using the stairs near us which was so annoying. For the amount of money we paid, we expected a better spot and nicer view. The people who sat next to us complained that the seats were too crammed up to ours. When we left, we were the only ones there and the staff were friendly. We did give them feedback about the fact that we didn't feel welcome when we got there because of their faces. They apologized and said that it might've been because they were so busy and weren't aware that they...
