Really excellent thai food and service. The restaurant is a large 100 seater with an inside, conservatory and outdoor eating area. There are two kitchen area that are open and you can see it is clean and the chefs are of thai origin. Located outside of the city centre on a residential block with plenty of street parking.

Service is friendly, fast and efficient.

We ordered the raw prawns very tasty and spicy. Chicken satay. This was fried rather then grilled but the meat had been marinated as such it had flavour and was juicy. It had satay sauce that was poured on top but it wasn't drowned in it like most other Dutch Thai/indo restaurants.

Two soups that actually had flavour and the correct spicy and sour notes and was full of veg and prawns.

The stir fried Mussels are really really good. The sauce is a peppery black bean affair with lot of bell peppers and onions in the mix.

For mains we had the spicy pork belly that was fried to crispy perfection and tossed with lot of fresh chilli. The pad thai woth prawn and a surprisingly spicy green curry.

The flavour of the dishes are authentic but if you have eaten in Thailand before you can tell that the dishes have been adjusted for the local Dutch customers ie: spice and chilli levels are lowered. But if you asked them for the authentic thai version I am sure they be happy to do that.

Some of the more traditional ingredients have been substituted with local alternatives. For instance the green curry had no pea aubergines or bamboo in it.

I am very happy to find this place as all the other thai restaurants I have tried in the Netherlands have either too sweet, lack flavour or just badly cooked food.

We paid €160 for a meal for 4 including 2 wines, 2 bottles water, 3 fruit juices, 3 desserts.

The portion sizes are massive and we were unable to finish them so packed the leftovers to go.

We besloten om uit eten te gaan om Floyds verjaardag te vieren. Natuurlijk moest het iets overheerlijkst en aparts zijn; het werd Thais eten. Op internet zocht ik het beste Thai restaurant in Rotterdam via de Iens site (het Eetcafé doet na navraag aan de eigenaar Rob NIET mee aan de AHrestaurantactie) en kwam terecht bij Eetcafé Thailand. Wij waren hier nog nooit geweest en besloten te reserveren. We werden goed ontvangen en kregen meteen een schaaltje kroepoek met pindasaus op tafel voorgeschoteld en even later kwamen onze drankjes op tafel. Wij wisten niet waaruit we, met de AH actie, konden kiezen en wachtten op de eigenaar om ons dit te vertellen. Wij kregen te horen dat ze hieraan niet mee deden en besloten Rob om advies te vragen vwb het luxe menu. Hij hielp ons geweldig en gaf ons antwoord op onze vragen. We begonnen met de 2 voorgerechten; siu mai en butterfly shrimps en later de soep; Tom Ka Kai. De soep rook heerlijk geurig gekruid en smaakte, ondanks dat mijn man niet graag van koriander houdt, heel lekker en machtig. Intussen werd het in de zaak drukker maar konden de klanten ook lekker buiten zitten op het grote zonnige terras. Het hoofdgerecht bestond uit bami en gebakken rijst; dit kon je vooraf kenbaar maken en een viertal authentieke Thaise gerechten waaronder, de welbekende, kip met cashew, biefstuk Massaman curry, garnalenkerriesaus en een groentencurry. We raakten al snel heel vol maar ik wilde toch ook een toetje proeven om het feestelijke diner af te sluiten. Helaas hadden ze geen, my all times favourite!!, mango sticky rice en nam ik de Thaise poffertjes met bolletje ijs en slagroom en nam mijn man een heerlijk kop “Giraffe” koffie. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en konden het helaas niet allemaal op eten; dit werd voor ons ingepakt voor thuis; een heerlijke midnight snack! Na betaling van €68,- vertrokken wij heel tevreden, snel naar huis voor de halve finale WK football van Kroatië tegen Engeland Onze complimenten voor Nipa (vrouw van Rob) en haar geweldige keukenbrigade; je proefde gewoon dat alles vers bereid was; óók voor de lieve dames die ons goed verzorgden en natuurlijk voor Rob die ons hielp bij de keuze van ons...

Very nice small Thai food of restaurant.

Friendly host welcomes the people and ensures you're comfortable straight when walking through the door. Staff is cheerful and very attentive.

The food is pretty darn good for Thai food served in The Netherlands. The whole fried sea bass with chilisaus is definitely a must try.

They added a few other dishes as well to the menu for those that might not appreciate the Thai spiciness that much.

Food and drink prices are pretty average for any restaurant in the Netherlands but you do get very decent food for your money. Well worth a try, you won't be disappointed if you...
