Uluwatu Beach — Restaurant in Rotterdam

The food was good but I can’t say that about the waiters. The first time when we walked in and sat by a table nobody noticed us, so we just walked out and went to another restaurant. Our second try was slightly better but if you look at the prices you would expect better service. The staff said that we can sit wherever we want and gave us dirty menu cards. Also the floor and the tables were dirty and I will not comment the condition of the men’s bathroom - it was just disgusting. Firstly we sat inside but the staff in the kitchen was clattering the cutlery and dishes so loud that we couldn’t hear each other and we had to change the table and sit outside. We ordered bitterballen as starter and moules and a burger as main. We received all the food at the same time. When I wanted to pay I had to walk around the restaurant and search someone. They didn’t give us the receipt, only told how much to pay. We visited this place twice (on the 7th of September), hoping for a better experience the second time - but unfortunately, the service remained consistently poor.

On our first visit, we sat unnoticed for 15 minutes before deciding to leave. Giving it another chance in the evening, we were again met with indifference. The staff seemed disengaged, uninterested - we had to actively seek their attention just to be served.

Once we finally got the attention, the waiter handed us two visibly unclean menu cards, both smeared with a sticky, brown substance. 🤢

The interior design is looks pretty impressive from the outside, but unfortunately by taking a closer look it leaves a lot to be desired - dirty tables and toilets… also the atmosphere was marred by loud clattering of cutlery and glasses forcing us to move to an outdoor table.

The food was the saving grace. It was beautifully presented and genuinely delicious.

This place near the beach is almost always full of people. There are a lot of waiters, and they are different - despite the fact that in the beginning they paid almost no attention to us, in the end we were served by a very pleasant and friendly waitress. Almost all items on the menu looked very promising, but in fact not all of them are really tasty. For example, I would not recommend taking Uluwatu Burger - it is absolutely not worth the money. But be sure to take Raspberry Goat salad - the cheese is simply magical. They didn’t have raspberries and replaced it with strawberries. Also Bali Slow Ribs are rather good.
