Catch Sushi & Streetfood — Restaurant in Schagen

First off, I’d like to be fair and mention that I’m an American so perhaps my taste buds differ from other reviewers here and are based on the rolls I’ve eaten today.

I had a craving for sushi rolls and figured I’d give Catch Bar a try since it’s a restaurant from 2 supposedly reputable chefs! Well sadly I was deeply disappointed 😒 the rolls were quite small each piece barely between the size of a US quarter and half dollar coin! I’m actually from California and the California roll is one of my favorite sushi rolls so I had to order it… sadly I was disappointed with the taste and quality.

The Spicy Tuna roll… not very spicy which is good but barely spicy as well. The mix of flavors in this Spicy Tuna recipe was also a bit clashing for me.

The Unagi roll… this was a surprise disappointment to me as I was expecting better quality… it was basically a California roll topped by defrosted unagi! all but one of my pieces were like rubber!

What a wonderful experience! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming at Catch. We ordered at the restaurant to take home. The chef gave us delicious potstickers on-the-house while we waited (which was only a short time). When mentioning a gluten allergy, they were extremely thorough in advising on ingredients and giving recommendations. We ordered the Catch Mix Box with the Unagi, Beef Roll, and a Rainbow Roll.
