Tox Bar — Restaurant in Schiermonnikoog

I arrived at around 16 on a Friday... Waited many more minutes than I wanted for the waiter, no one came - I went inside to make my order and was not received with that much excitation. Due to my died I wanted to eat exclusively pork, and asked if the ribs were pork meat, waiter answered with "yeah, I guess it is" 😅 I asked her to be sure with the kitchen staff, which she fortunately did. I paid before hand.

Picked my table which was dirty and sticky (and behind the outdoor benches close to the wall there was a lot of garbage... Disgusting really) asked the waitress if someone could clean it - again I had the impression I was bothering her with work.

The pork ribs were dry, and I'm almost sure they weren't freshly cooked - I was disappointed with a dish thst costs over 19€.

After I was done, I asked for another waitress for the menu since I wanted a beer. She said she'd come take my order soon... After 10 minutes waiting I left.

I've been to 5 other restaurants in the island - the others gave a much better sense of friendliness, readiness and quality - not...

Die Toxbar auf der malerischen Insel Schiermonnikoog hat mich sofort mit ihrer liebevoll gestalteten und außergewöhnlichen Einrichtung beeindruckt. Man fühlt sich hier richtig wohl, und das liegt nicht nur an den sauberen Toiletten, sondern auch am freundlichen Personal, das einem ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zaubert.

Aber mal ehrlich, gibt es nicht immer irgendwas zu meckern? In diesem Fall könnte das Personal ruhig ein wenig aufmerksamer sein, um rechtzeitig nachzufragen, ob jemand noch etwas trinken möchte. Denn seien wir ehrlich, wir sind doch alle hier, um unsere Kehlen zu befeuchten und einen entspannten Abend mit Freunden zu genießen, oder?

Nun zum Essen: Für den Preis hat man hier nichts zu beanstanden. Unsere etwas größere Gruppe war rundum zufrieden mit den servierten Gerichten. Sicher, die Toxbar hat uns nicht vom Hocker gerissen, aber sie hat uns auch nicht enttäuscht.

Alles in allem kann ich die Toxbar auf Schiermonnikoog empfehlen. Klar, beim Service gibt es noch Luft nach oben, aber die Atmosphäre, die Sauberkeit und das Essen machen das locker wett. Wenn das Personal hier noch einen Zahn zulegt, bin ich mir sicher, dass die Toxbar bald fünf Sterne...

Great location. The drinks were average. We ordered visfriet, but they took ages and we had almost finished our drinks by the time they arrived. They were hardly worth the wait as the dish was a kind of breaded deep-fried stick of fish puree that also kind of tasted like mashed potatoes. The possibly-homemade tartar sauce, delicious, barely saved them. I'd try other bars before going back...
