The Sawmill Cafe — Restaurant in Sluis

Went for a drive to get late lunch. My partner noticed the Sawmill on our way to Breskens lighthouse. We saw the reviews were very good so stopped in on the way back. I didn't see any specific parking for the cafe but we managed to park directly opposite. The young man who served us was very polite and helpful and recommended a good beer while we looked at the menu. Unfortunately we could not understand it as it was all in Dutch but again the young man helped with a suggestion of ribs and fries. Well, the fries were crunchy and tasted homemade, the ribs were tender and tasty and the salad and coleslaw were good too, we both cleared our plates. Best place to have fish burger and fries. This restaurant has been renamed as Cafetaria De Zagerij. They make fries in the restaurant, very crispy and a fresh fish gives a yummy taste to the Burger. Brandon speaks English and was kind enough to suggest local coffee and assist us in our choice, especially when we don’t eat beef or pork. After a week of staying in Brugge we decided to hop across the border and visit the Netherlands. Trying to find somewhere local to eat we stumbled upon this little gem. The staff are really friendly and we basically let the server order for us. The ribs were out of this world, the meat just fell off the bone and was tasty to boot.
