I recently had the pleasure of visiting TOKO SARI in Stadskanaal, and it’s truly a culinary gem that everyone should discover. From the street, the wonderful aroma from the kitchen draws you in, hinting at the delicious experience that awaits.

We indulged in a variety of dishes, including the rendang, tempeh, chicken rendang, chicken kuning, and spicy long beans. Each dish was exceptionally tasty and freshly prepared, showcasing the authentic flavors of Indonesian cuisine. The rendang was tender and rich, melting in your mouth with its complex spices. The chicken kuning offered succulent pieces simmered in a fragrant yellow curry sauce, while the spicy long beans added a perfect kick to our meal.

The owner herself attended to us, preparing everything with love and care. Her dedication and passion for Indonesian cooking shine through every dish. She was more than happy to explain the menu and adjust the spiciness to our preference, making the experience all the more special.

Not only was the food sublime, but the hospitality was also outstanding. The warm and friendly atmosphere made us feel right at home. We even received our meal in microwave-safe containers, which was perfect since the portions were generous and we took some leftovers home.

What a delight! 😄 An authentic homecooked Indo food near us now. We discovered it while googling for toko. We've been there 6 times since 27 Oct. Especially when they introduced a delicacy which is not on the menu. A must try! As an Asian, it is like homecoming and nice to take a break from cooking at home and enjoy the warmth, love and hospitality of Benjamin & Amalia, and not forgetting, their lovely daughter, Summer. I believe in relationship building between customers and owners. We truly feel very much at home at their warmly cosy toko. Having a heart to heart conversation when they were not busy. That is true Asian community hospitality. I add fotos, taken by Jeroen of Amalia's handmade lempers which I wrapped round with our homegrown bamboo leaves and steamed on fig leaves for breakfast. This rekindles my sweet memory of my heavenly grandma's delicious dumplings she made. The love and passion is the best ingredients poured into their homecooked food. You can feel it. ❤️Making food is a lot of hard work! I know because I cook too. When we feel like taking a break and crave for Asian food, we always end up at Toko Sari for a delicious meal and conversation. TOKO SARI - Een Culinaire Indische Parel in Stadskanaal

Ik kwam toevallig bij TOKO SARI in Stadskanaal, Hier was ik toevallig aan voor een bezoek aan de kapper en ik kan met zekerheid zeggen dat dit een culinaire parel is die iedereen zou moeten ontdekken. Het eten hier is uitzonderlijk lekker en wordt elke dag vers bereid, wat je kunt proeven in elk gerecht.

Bij mijn bezoek werd ik geholpen door de eigenaresse zelf, die ook alles met veel liefde en zorg bereidt. Dit persoonlijke tintje maakt de ervaring des te specialer. Haar toewijding en passie voor de Indonesische keuken komen duidelijk naar voren in de gerechten die ze serveert.

De saté was bijzonder zacht en mals, een echte aanrader voor liefhebbers van gegrild vlees. De risoles waren een ware verrukking: goed gevuld, zacht van binnen en heerlijk knapperig van buiten. Deze combinatie van texturen en smaken was simpelweg perfect.

TOKO SARI is een plek waar je niet alleen komt voor het eten, maar ook voor de warme en gastvrije sfeer. De eigenaresse zorgt ervoor dat je je meteen thuis voelt en geeft je een authentieke ervaring van de Indonesische keuken.
