What a lovely spot for a social dindins. Neat and roomy with tables not piled close together. We had not booked but a table was available. Was next to the service hatch but not noisy and the portions we saw leaving were generous and tastefully arranged on the plate with culinary artistry. Our portions were great. My burger ordered m-rare arrived exactly as ordered and my cousin had the lamb curry and was over the moon. Our ladies had fish. My wife had the 3 baby sole and cousin had the "kabeljouw" or cod and both were enthused over. Our waitress was on her first night serving and was an absolute pleasure...attentive well mannered and cleared used glasses quickly and replaced drinks chopchop. Dessert pictured was the Advocaat icecream and was scrumptious. Entire meal an absolute pleasure and if you're on Texel looking for dinner....look no further than this spot. Kids...

We called there and asked if a reservation was necessary. The answer was: not necessary. We arrived 30 minutes later and had to wait. When we were given a table, it was outside – in the blazing sun without a parasol or awning. Our request for an inside table was declined, even though only two tables were occupied. The waitress's argument was: then she'd have to walk more! Completely understandable – with better work, higher income, and more tips, the tattoos on her oversized body would also lose their shape. It's a shame about the catering industry – unprofessional and unfriendly staff leaves me with a negative impression of the kitchen without me even having to try it. Wij hebben ontzettend genoten op het prachtige eiland Texel. Nadat wij onze spullen in ons prachrig verblijf hadden gelegd (Texel Suites) zijn we wat gaan lunchen bij Kombuis dat leek ons een leuke plek. Hier eenmaal aangekomen en een plekje uitgekozen te hebben kwam de serveerster naar ons toe om onze bestelling op te nemen, we zijn door verschillende geholpen het enthousiasme bij het personeel bij deze zaak is echt ver te zoeken wat een chagrijnige gezichten. Wij bestelde een broodje carpaccio bitterballen en uitsmijter, De bitterballen waren leeg gebakken en het witbrood van de carpaccio niet te snijden, had een goed kartelmes maar kwam er niet doorheen een zaag erbij was eerder nodig. Het broodje heb ik daarom niet opgegeten, toen ik dit aangaf bij 1 van de serveerster die de tafel kwam afruimen werdt er totaal 0 reactie op gegeven geen woord! Echt schandalig. Dit was voor ons de eerste en laatste keer hier je voelt je hier absoluut niet welkom als gast bij deze tent.
