I made over the time 3 experiences with this place:
first time (short after opening) I only had a coffee there; this was good, the service friendly, so I convinced my wife to give it a try for dinner…
which we „tried“: some time ago we were there (during the week) with the idea to have dinner there: „sorry, today the kitchen is already closed“, so we had just a beer there (2 wheat beer, „german style“ = 0.5l) - and had to pay more than 20 euros… we were a bit „surprised“ & waited a bit for the next try…
which we gave today: same procedure than last time, we were informed that today (as every wednesday & sunday) there is only lunch :-/ So we ordered just a beer & payed it; some minutes later the waitress passed our table again - with a pizza & a salad. Some additional minutes a colleague of her passed with another tray of food for the same table somewhere behind us! 17:45 seems to be typical dutch lunchtime? Not according our experience (at least up to now), which leads me to the only possible conclusion that the waitress even LIED to us!! (I even regret the tip I gave her!)
All in all it will need quite a long time for me to forget this!
Regarding the owners answer:
I did not complain about the price of the beer, I was just describing our experience… (nevertheless, we came back!) What‘s so complicated to understand when I complain about to be told food is only served at lunchtime and then seeing the same food carried along another table at 5:45 ???
I‘m not easy at hand with a bad review (as you will see when you have a look at my other reviews), but in this case it‘s a correct description of my...
Read moreMyself and my wife recently had our wedding in this venue and they absolutely nailed it. We had 100 guests, a lot with dietary requirements and allergies such as vegans, nut allergies, gluten-free/celiac and celery allergies, all of which was easily handled. On top of that, the food is excellent. A vegetarian buffet dinner for 100 people is no small task, but Joshua in the kitchen suggested a great menu which he executed flawlessly on the day. Nearly every message we received from guests afterwards mentioned the high quality of the food. Stef was also a joy to organise with, suggesting a seating plan and co-ordinating with us on table arrangements, welcoming drinks etc. We had a lot of unconventional extras at our wedding, including a pop-up tattoo parlour and an oyster bar, all of which were handled professionally and with a minimum of fuss. The bar staff were helpful and had a positive attitude, one of them taking requests for cocktails that weren't on our menu but they agreed to make anyway. The venue itself is lovely, with lots of natural light, high ceilings and rotating art displays on the walls which also got a lot of compliments from the guests. Overall, a 10/10 experience, I would happily recommend organising an event here to...
Read moreVegan or vegetarian or have a food intolerance? Then this place is for you. They believe in eating a variety of fresh food which is very much reflected in their menu with fun names.
The food we ordered was “Mr Parmigiana”, a delicious dish made with tasty aubergine and served with 2 slices of brown crusty bread; margarita pizza with oozy cheese; and “Happy Feet” which is smashed avocado, sprinkled with pomegranate and topped with a gorgeous poached egg. The juice and shakes were freshly made and was so refreshing, which they can tailor to your needs. For dessert I had the “Going nuts over this chocolate cake” and it was absolutely divine.
The bistro has a converted church, peaceful vibe which surrounded by greenery, despite being in the middle of a residential area. The service staff is friendly and very forthcoming with dietary request.
Although I love my meat, this place serves the most gorgeous vegetarian food which keeps the people with food tolerances in in...
