Pizzeria Buona Fortuna — Restaurant in The Hague

I tried this place by randomly walking by. Seems to be a family, and they were super warm and welcoming so I already felt good vibes. But of course, the food is also relevant and not only being nice, and their pizzas were absolutely delicious... They have a little bit of a unique taste/style, and so fresh and tasteful flavours!! They really do it with heart and knowledge.

I returned a few days later since I was craving their food, I tried something else on the menu, a mushroom dish, and I could confirm that the first visit wasn’t an exception, again it was delicious.

This is my new go-to pizza place! I have nothing but positive things to say about these friendly people! Except that it’s their fault...

English: I ordered a pizza from this restaurant for the first time, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The pizza looked and tasted like a frozen supermarket pizza — definitely not what you’d expect when ordering from a restaurant.

The cheese wasn’t even melted properly. When lifting a slice, it didn’t stretch or pull the way real melted cheese does. Instead, it was rubbery and came off in chunks. The crust was dry and had the same bland, processed texture as frozen pizza. The bottom of the pizza was pale and uniform, lacking any sign of being freshly baked.

The taste overall was very poor — bland sauce, low-quality toppings, and no aroma of freshly cooked pizza. It felt like something taken out of a box and oven-heated, not something made in a real kitchen.

If I wanted a frozen pizza, I would have bought one at the supermarket for a fraction of the price.

This was a disappointing waste of money. I won’t be ordering from here again.

Dutch: Ik bestelde voor het eerst een pizza bij dit restaurant, en helaas was het een grote teleurstelling. De pizza leek en smaakte alsof hij rechtstreeks uit de supermarkt kwam — beslist niet wat je verwacht van een restaurant.

De kaas was niet eens goed gesmolten. Bij het optillen van een stuk rekte de kaas niet mee zoals je bij verse, gesmolten kaas zou verwachten. In plaats daarvan was het rubberachtig en viel het in stukken uit elkaar.

De korst was droog en had dezelfde saaie, bewerkte textuur als een diepvriespizza. De onderkant van de pizza was bleek en egaal, zonder enige tekenen van een versgebakken bodem.

De smaak was ronduit slecht — flauwe saus, goedkope toppings en geen geur van een vers bereide pizza. Het voelde alsof het gewoon uit een doos werd gehaald en in de oven werd gegooid, niet alsof het vers in de keuken was bereid.

Als ik een diepvriespizza wilde, had ik er wel één in de supermarkt gekocht voor een veel lagere prijs.

Dit was een teleurstellende verspilling van geld. Ik bestel hier niet...

Perfect place to grab a delicious pizza on the way to the Kijkduin beach! Most of pizzerias by the beach are poor taste quality yet expensive.
