Tasting room La Trappe — Restaurant in Tilburg

We visit Tilburg every other year for the Aryeon weekend and a visit to the Monastery is always top of the to do list for an excellent locally sourced menu and to purchase a few bottles of our favourite beer to take home. We chatted to a number of other customers, (the communal long tables really encourage this) as well as staff, and were made to feel extremely welcome as always. We have never booked a table however once seated there was a group of around 20 people who came in after a visit to the brewery filling the seating to capacity. There is ample seating outside however the weather wasn't going to make that a viable option this year! I cannot recommend this treat for the taste buds and soul...

Um sonho realizado! Uma das pouquíssimas abadias ou cervejarias antigas/raiz que estão dispostos e oferecem estrutura pra te receber. Lugar muito agradável, restaurante bacana, comida de alto nível e as cervejas nem preciso falar. Se não me engano, são 8 estilos de cervejas disponíveis nos taps.

Sobre o TOUR: vale muito a pena. Conseguimos fazer o tour mesmo sem agendar antecipadamente, solicitamos fazer logo após chegarmos e conseguimos, mas não sabemos se foi por disponibilidade do dia ou sorte mesmo kkkkk. O tour custou €15 por pessoa e cada um recebeu 1 chopp a sua escolha logo no início do tour, no momento do vídeo. Achamos isso show de bola, pois geralmente nas cervejarias você recebe sua degustação só no final do tour, e nós queremos é beber kkkkk. Destaco um fato que aconteceu particulamente comigo: Eu não avia terminado de comer no momento que precisa iniciar o tour da minha turma, e simpaticamente as atendentes permitiram e ajudaram a levar meu almoço e etc até a sala do vídeo que dá início ao tour. Atendimento excelente! No tour não visita-se a parte territorial religiosa, mas você anda por toda fábrica e pátios ao redor. Muito agradável.

Na saída do terreno da Abadia tem o SHOP/LOJA. Muito bacana também, bastante coisas bacanas e interessantes. Com surpresa, achamos os preços ótimos, melhor que muitos lugares, e também vários produtos exclusivos. Vale muito a pena comprar algumas coisas antes de ir embora.

Sobre o TRANSPORTE até lá: saímos de Antuérpia, norte da Bélgica. Pegamos um trem até Breda (sul da Holanda), trocamos de linha, pegamos outro trem até Tilburg (Holanda), e depois pegamos um ônibus, em um terminal ao lado da estação do trem que chegamos, até a Abadia. O ponto de ônibus é bem pertinho. Na volta fizemos exatamente ao contrário. Foi relativamente bem fácil e tranquilo, mas sugiro prestar bastante atenção e se informar legal durante todo o trajeto. Google Maps sempre ajudando e salvando kkkkkk.

Desejo à todo mundo um dia poder visitar também, principalmente os amantes das cervejas...

La Trappe tasting room is a cool spot with some really great beers. We tried their classic tasting, and the beer was honestly amazing. The place is surrounded by the abbey, which adds a nice vibe, and it’s awesome that their profits go to charity.The food was okay but not outstanding. The soup, bitterballen, fries, and bread with veggies and local cheese were fine, but the cauliflower fries were a bit of a letdown. The coating was really thick—like half the bite—and tasted strongly of beer, which wasn’t great. A thinner coating would’ve been way better to actually enjoy the cauliflower.Overall, a solid spot if you’re into good beer, but the food could use...
