This truly is a beautiful B & B in a gorgeous part of The Netherlands. The rooms are exquisite and the friendliness of staff is great. ||We were a little surprised at the breakfast as pictures seemed to indicate that it was a buffet style (my husband likes to eat) but it was served to us in the restaurant area of the B & B (it is a local restaurant in the day/evenings). Saying that, the breakfast, too, was exquisite and so well-presented. It was very 'Dutch' and delicious: different types of bread, meat, cheese and a boiled egg with fruit and freshly-squeezed orange juice, too along with a pastry - all served on individual bread boards.||One of the loveliest things we received was our early breakfast in a bag! They had kindly prepared a bag of goodies for our early start. We were really touched by the care that had gone into this.||We also received a welcome drink, too! They really do know how to treat their guests.||The only reason why I am not giving this 5 stars is mostly down to my desire to not be on Amsterdam's doorstep but I was surprised at how far away we actually were. I am a reasonably well-travelled person and I am quite good at researching travel from place to place of new places and my timings were completely wrong but I had used the information provided. It took more than an hour to get to Amsterdam when sources had said 40mins. We were also further away from the Ziggodome, too and this resulted in use of expensive taxis...it was worth it and we would return in a heartbeat but more information is needed about location and distances, I think.||Thank you for making my first trip to Amsterdam very special though and I do highly recommend this place for both,...

My boyfriend and I kicked off our Euro Trip in Amsterdam and stayed in this BEAUTIFULLY converted 19th century train station. From the first moment, we were so impressed. We arrived after kitchen closing and being hungry, inquired about places in the area and the chef VERY GRACIOUSLY made us the most delicious Chicken Satay with chips! Just whipped out such deliciousness to ensure that we didn't starve. Incredible! The room was clean, (we stayed in Station West) was at the very top and had a lovely view. Loved the aesthetic, the in room teas and coffee were lovely and the staff were just wonderful. We enjoyed the vibe of staying above a restaurant/ pub and never once bothered by any noise or anything like that from downstairs. Almost like it wasn't there! We had breakfast daily and usually while traveling, even if breakfast is free, we would sometimes opt to eat out to try other things and we didn't once do this. It was a lovely spread and their attention to detail was appreciated- remembering from one morning to the next (and different staff) that I didn't love the yogurt so an extra croissant was preferred. Via bus system, this place was about an hour away from central Amsterdam and we loved that! We didn't regret being that far away- felt that it was worth the stay and wonderful to see and stay in another part! Thank you for a lovely stay! This will be a re-visit should we come back...

My wife and I had a fabulous one night layover at Het Spoorhuis! Spent most of the night at the restaurant downstairs devouring our dinner. Enjoyed a complementary shot of cognac and a glass of wine w our meals. Loved the food, the ambiance, exceptionally accommodating and lovely staff and our beautiful room;) Met dank!
